Interesting concept. 50% more damage, 33% increase in range (versus the standard AC10 specs) Any pilot facing this would be sorely mistaken.

True save the fact you have AMS

If it had been a straight refit of SW-era Urbies (drop the extra SHS, replace AC/10 with TB/15 and 3 tons ammo, possibly upgrade to FF armor) it makes some sense.

But as new construction (ES chassis) it makes no sense at all - use DHS and a HPPC as main gun and you get the same range/damage profile but doesn't have to worry about AMS or ammo and get several tons more to play with in the bargain!

Ya but a HPPC Urbie has been done already... are far too common to think of.

inspired by this topic, i tried to create a urbie for my own,
HPPC or Thunderbolt are both problematic 'cause of minimal range
the urbie is really great on urban maps because it is hard to use it not right (no skidding, good weapon for short to medium range)

a array of machine guns, flamers and srm should do a better job for anti infantry and tank hunting

The thunderbolt is a nice choice since it can be fired indirectly. Park the Urbie out of sight a few blocks away, hide some infantry to spot in a convenient building, and then rain down the love on the opposition.

Ive done some urbie refits myself but i tend to stick with the familiar. As i am not a huge fan of the HPPC, i went with a Gauss Rifle to keep that ballistic "boom"

Personally, I think that the MRM-30 urbie is much more scary when it rounds a corner in a city.

It is doable as an older refit of the UM-R60.  If you must have the same ammo I suppose one heat sink could be swapped for more ammo.

Really, I was seeing being used as follows; walk into a medium or heavy building, hide in the building, then use your supporting infantry as spotters to fire indirectly. A head-cap out of nowhere can be very demoralizing!

Is it just me or hasn't the trend in the newest TROs to try to cram as much new tech on each unit as possible (except for the RetroTech designs of course)?
