(Answered) Replacing engines on OmniMechs
« on: 30 September 2011, 12:37:28 »
'lo folks!

Just a quick question:
Let's say I have an OmniMech with a 275 Standard Fusion Engine that has been critted beyond repair.
Let's also assume, that I don't stockpile 275 S.F.E., but the XL variant thereof.

Can a team of techs make use of the XL Engine, while, of course, also recalibrating computers, gyro and stuff,
or is it imperative for the replacement to be of the same variety as the one to be replaced...?
If the first, what would be the assets needed, besides, of course, the XL Engine (like access to a factory, lift equipment etc.)...?
If the second..... well, I just hope, first case wins.. :)

Regards and thanks in advance,
Tom

It must be the same. The XL engine has a different weight and different size. The Omni Gyro is specifically configured to support the Omni is was put into and can not be changed.

Omnis are very flexible weapons platforms. They are not flexible design platforms.
