I have owned three hedgehogs. This is Oliver, my current one. How can I help?

Small woodland creatures that make more noise than a drunken bear. What's not to like about them?

The ones commercially available in the USA are usually African pygmies, much smaller than European hedgies; they tend to live in the desert.

Do they eat snakes, snails and mice like their European cousins?

No, they're much too small. I don't think they have the immunity to adder venom, either. They eat small insects and various plants in the wild, I'm told.

I've often felt this.

Any requests? I think a medium tracked tank would fit the name.

That sounds about right to me.

We need a BattleTech unit named after the hedgehog.

TRVA mentions the Three-Man Digging Machine IndustrialMech, that's nicknamed the Hedgehog. It sounds supsiciously like the precursor to the Ares 'Mechs to me.

Clearly, any such unit should be defensive standouts, though whether that means individually tough and durable units, a defensive tactical mindset, or both should probably be left to better men than I.

Pricky B.Stards - tracked armor, mechanized infantry, engineers and artillery
Tactics: take ground, repulse attack, counterattack, win (sort of Husite tactics)
They are not flashy, elegant or subtle, but they get the job done.

I could see Po tanks and Goblin IFVs being the backbone of the unit with some Partisans, LRM carrier and Snipers or Thumpers for support. Heavily armed infantry, even field guns if Tac Ops rules are in effect.
Shoot first, laugh later.

It appeared in an Issue of Stardate magazine, as a 35-ton tripod. I think BattleTechnology had the Echidna IFV?
