I'm a little confused over the identities of two of the minor states in the post-FWL region: the Border Protectorate and The Protectorate. According to the map on p. 42/43 of Jihad: Final Reckoning, The Border Protectorate is a tiny two-world region close to Terra consisting of the worlds of Zosma and Alula Australis, whereas The Protectorate is a six-world region located close to the Duchy of Orloff and the Duchy of Oriente., as at 3067.
On page 92, it's mentioned that Oriente liaisons have increasingly been seen with both Orloff and Border Protectorate military forces, and that a defensive pact between the three nations seems likely. However, the map on page 62/63 no longer shows the Border Protectorate - both worlds are now a part of the Republic of the Sphere. The map key does still show an area marked as "The Protectorate" though, and it still consists of the same 6 worlds as at 3081.
Field Report: FWLM, p. 13, shows the Border Protectorate as having one military unit, the Iron Guard, based on New Delos. However, on the map on p. 17, the Iron Guard and New Delos are both in the region identified on the 3081 map as being a part of The Protectorate.
Did "The Protectorate" change it's name to the Border Protectorate at some point after the 2-world Border Protectorate got absorbed by the Republic of the Sphere, or are the two getting mixed up between maps and texts?
