its been almost 5 years 1 box set and a slew of source books since it was to be released in print, some time in late 2008,  have thay given up on print novels if that's the case why not have whoever does the sourcebooks whip up a source book sized book and yea i know it would be at a higher sticker price than 6.99 but you could probale fit the whole thing in about 80 or 90 pages and if that's not cos effective put some battlecorp stuff in to and charge what you charge for the battlecorp print books.

Long story short, they have not given up on getting it in print as a novel. There are issues they cannot share with us that complicate this, but they want a return of proper Battletech novels even more than most of us do.

This is a good thing.  I worry about the younger generation, especially if they don't have decent access to printed literature featuring mass destruction delivered by the pilots of giant robots.

The younger generation use those new fangled "I-pads" and their fancy "e-books" anymore...They are lost on the feel of a
good book in their hands, the smell of paper as they read....

No doubt, my eyes are already paying the price for reading the e-versions of good books in recent years....    or maybe I just need to borrow a cane to chase whippersnappers off my lawn, too!  ;)

I don't much qualify for the "younger generation" tag. I honestly couldn't wait to get rid of my books for e-books. Books are a minimalist's nightmare. Age has little to do with it and personal taste a whole lot more. E-book readers are a huge hit at several of the local seniors centers, and an often donated item. Text can be made much larger, they don't have to keep multiple books that take up the very limited space available in most of these facilities, and they can avoid having to drive to local libraries or wait for buses to do so. Use what works. A good book is enjoyed because it is a good book. Format doesn't matter.
