A Time of War Resources in other BT Books?
« on: 13 October 2012, 17:23:46 »
Hi,

I would like to know which Books have Rules or Expansion for A Time of War.

I have "A Time of War" and the "A Time of War Companion" pdf, but are there any other books that have resources. I also have most of the older 3rd Edition Books, so I am just looking for new Stuff specifically for A Time of War.

Thanks,
Tycho

Era Reports have a few items here and there but that's about it.

The Handbook series has plenty of RP material in them, though I don't know if all of them are AToW-current. The last couple should be, at least.
My wife writes books
"Thanks to Megamek, I can finally play BattleTech the way it was meant to be played--pantsless!"   -Neko Bijin
"...finally, giant space panties don't seem so strange." - Whistler
"Damn you, Weirdo... Damn you for being right!" - Paul
"...I was this many years old when I found out that licking a touchscreen in excitement is a bad idea." - JadeHellbringer
"We are the tribal elders. Weirdo is the mushroom specialist." - Worktroll

Becouse first releases of Handbook serie predate ATOW, likely not those. Revised Editions anyone?
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights errant, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

Aren't most of the changes between the two systems relatively minor, not really necessitating complete revamps?

Maybe some of the changes put up in the downloads section...

It's easy enough to convert, and ATOW Companion has rules for full conversions from MW3 to ATOW.

Yep, including character sheets and an Adventure.
The solution is just ignore Paul.

Thanks guys, so i picked up the Era Report I needed.

I have most of the House Handbooks, but they are all MW3rd afaik. I don't know if anybody knows, but is there going to be aToW stuff in the upcoming Kurita Housebook?

From Herb's answer in the ask CGL section, the stuff in the handbooks has been worked into AToW for the most part.
Era reports contain information to let you create characters in other eras of battletech (AFAIK AToW is set right after the Jihad), so are nice to have, and we now have the Companion which is great.

Anything for 3025, 3028, or 3039?

I would say those three dates correspond to the same era.
Regardless, they haven't come out with an Era report for that time yet.  I am eagerly awaiting some succession wars era reports myself.

I should mention I forgot to mention that Era Digests also contain Role Playing stuff (pretty much the same stuff as Era Reports: life paths and wealth/income modifications)

But post FRR Independence, War of 3039, and 4th Succession War.  All three of those had significant impact on fairly sizable chunks of space.
