Page 289 of SO under Weapon Delivered Minefields states that a unit with the IF (Indirect Fire) ability can be used to deliver minefields. It does not list any other restriction on this despite the ability being used by units that can not normally fire thunder or FASCAM munitions. IE battle armor or units with mech mortars.  It also only lists conventional minefields and none of the other types such as Active or Vibrabomb.

Page 310 of Stategic Operations under alternate munitions for Long Range Missiles says that in order to use any of the specialty LRM types one must possess the LRM ability. Thunder LRMs are on this list, and it includes a reference back to page 289 on how to use them.

Questions: Are all units with the IF fire ability allowed to lay minefields? Or are only those that possess both the LRM ability and the IF ability able to do so?

Secondary question: Can units capable of laying weapon delivered minefields deliver other types of mines or just the one type listed as Conventional.

p. 289 should be referring to the LRM special ability, not the IF special ability.

p. 289 should be errated with...
"Units and any Element with the indirect-fire ability may fire special munitions"  IF special ability does not give any special munitions to fire.  Replace indirect-fire ability with "LRM special ability".

"To create a weapon-delivered minefield with the Indirect Fire ability, the player simply nominates a target hex within range and makes an attack as if shooting directly at the hex; LRM and MML attacks include"  BattleForce has no way to tell if its an MML attack, so this distinction should be struck.  But also the "Indirect Fire ability" should be replaced with Artillery or LRM special ability.  Then remove the "and MML"

"Indirect-fire minefields may also be set using indirect-fire rules. Regardless of the method used, this type of weapon-delivered minefield has a density equal to the IF rating of the Element setting the minefield."  Change "IF rating" to "LRM long range damage value", leave the other indirect-fire references in this quote.
