Megamind

It is a guilty pleasure of mine to watch movies like this, ostensibly aimed at kids, yet great popcorn fun for adults as well.

Anyone else enjoy the movie?

I'll admit. Il iked it. And I normally despise Will Farrel, not a big fan. But it was a good movie.
I've heard that US freight trains move 1 ton of cargo 435 miles on 1 gallon of gas. I think this means we should all become hobos.

I love this movie to know end, I find movies like this get funnier as we get older, I was watching a bugs life the other day and I was laughing so hard, and I never saw how funny it was when I was younger
"Warriors, not war machines, are the backbone of the Hell's Horses. While others worship the BattleMech as the ultimate weapon, the men and women of this Clan see even this awesome piece of technology as the tool it is. We have held to this philosophy since the days of our first Khan, who knew that the value of the common soldier far outstripped the brute force of the BattleMech. It is one reason our Clan possesses fewer mechs than most, and has led many to underestimate our fierceness and courage. Our survival against all challengers when others have fallen proves the folly of such arrogance, and testifies to the wisdom of our founders."

And that was, frankly, the weakest of the Pixar offerings.  Even their 'worst' is still miles above some of the drudge that comes to the screen these days.

Yeah I find now that I'm getting older and some of the movies I love aren't from the last decade I find myself saying they don't make movies like they used to

I was, quite frankly, shocked. Dreamworks isn't high on my list of 'good movie' offerings, normalyl, but Megamind was excellent. So two unexpected thigns at once- Me liking Ferrel, and Dreamworks.

Did you get to see 'Despicable Me', Martin?

I did, I found the story a bit blah and predictable, but the humour generally good and the sequences enjoyable.  Again, the 'adult jokes' were funny to me, especially the "Bank of Evil".

I'd have to agree with ya, this was much better than some of the usual Ferrell stuff... got a full review here actually: http://paulsvalleydailydemocrat.com/moviereviews/x415200371/-Megamind-a-clever-parody-of-villain-stereotypes

Actually, I would say How to train your Dragon was much better than Megamind, and that was also Dreamworks. Megamind was not bad, but not great either. My perception is likely colored by my complete apathy in the superhero genre, so I would take what I say on Megamind with a little grain of salt.

I know I would have liked Megamind more if I hadn't seen most of the previews. As a rule, I usually try not to get much info about a movie I am interested in so as not to spoil any of the surprises. Of course, I ignored that rule this time around and I came away from the movie theater thinking that it was a good film but not perfect.

Also, ever since Toy Story 1, I have loved alot of the animated films that have come out. Finding Nemo would have to be my favorite with The Incredibles being up there as well.

Dragon was great, as well, but Megamind's successful combination of DW/WF was what actually shocked me.

@Martin- for me and my gf, 'Despicable' was more made fun by individual scenes and humor than overall story. OH YEAH!

How to train your Dragon is still one of my all time favorite movies. It, and Megamind I think are Dreamworks way of repenting for the last half dozen Shrek movies

Megamind was the one movie where I told my wife "I actually enjoyed Will Farrel." Which means now the world will probably end or at least go off a slight tilt in the future.
You weren't there, in the final days of the Fanon War. You never saw what was born. But if the Forum Lock's broken, then everything's coming through! Not just the Woverines, but the Kerensky Degradations, the Horde of Taurians, the Nightmare Capellan, the Could-Have-Been-Khan with his army of Munchkins and The Geshtalts;the War turned into Hell! And that's what you've opened right into Terra! Hell is descending!
