Hello, something came up in a thread recently that is different from how my GM & group have been doing things so I thought I'd ask for some clarity.
How exactly does the BV get applied in from TAG + Guided ammo ?
The Rules in TM P314 "Constructing a Battle Force" don't specifically say how to apply it.
The Example for this Scenario.
BattleMech Lance (4 Guillotines)
Artillery Lance (4 Chaparrals each w/ 1 Ton of Homing Ammo)
Spotter Lance (4 Sprints)
Option 1. (How My GM Does it)
4 Tons of Homing Ammo (30) x4 = 120
4 TAGs on the field, 1/Sprint
Each Sprint adds 120 BV to its Base BV of 82 for a SubTotal of 202 & then Modifies by skill.
Option 2. (Variant Reading of the Rules)
At least 1 TAG is on the Battlefield
1 Ton of Homing Ammo per Chaparral.
Each Chaparral adds 30 BV to its Base BV & then Modifies by skill.
Option 3. (Suggested Variant in the thread)
At least 1 TAG is on the Battlefield
4 Tons of Homing Ammo (30) x4 = 120
120 BV added to the total force BV.
I'm pretty sure option 3 isn't legal since there is no way to modify by skill & that seems to be the intent.
That said, either Option 1 or 2 "could" be how its intended from based on my copy of TW.
I searched the forums to see if this has been asked/answered before but didn't find anything so I'm hoping you can provide some insight.
