The question relates to the minimum number of hexes an Aero must move between facing changes.

Here are the rules again from TW 3rd printing pg84:

Additional Facing Changes: Aerospace fighters and aerodyne
DropShips and small craft can also spend Thrust Points to gain
additional facing changes. At any point in their movement, such
units may spend Thrust Points equal to half their current velocity
(round up) to change facing one hexside. However, they may not
do so if they have already changed facing in that hex or if this
is the first hex of their movement.

This is in addition to the free facing changes Aeros get in atmosphere.  The last sentence of the quote could be interpreted as saying that an Aero must move 1 hex between facing changes.  If that is a low-altitude 1 hex, then on ground maps there would need to be 8 hexes moved between each facing change.

I ask this question because I am trying to make sure that Megamek implements the rules properly.  Currently, for Aeros on ground maps, Megamek requires an aero to move 8 hexes straight in between any facing change (free or not).  Within the source code for Megamek there is the following comment:

This indicates that the issue was been raised before, but the linked post appears to no longer exist (or at least I cannot access it).  However, this seems to contradict what Xotl said in the first post I linked to.  I was wondering if I could get some clarification.
