A question re: "XTRO Deep"
« on: 06 November 2013, 07:38:13 »
I was thumbing through ISP3 again, due to someone referencing megafauna, and I came across an Escorpion Imperio RAT with a couple of things that don't yet have published stats.

- Pride Conventional Fighter (45T)
- Thunderbird Strike (100T)

Both are listed as being in "XTR Deep", which I assume is "XTRO: Deep Periphery". A search turned up the fact that it's been shelved, unfortunately. My question is, will the stats for these be published at any point?

You'd be better off asking this question in the "Ask the Writers" or "Ask the Lead Developers" forums, since we're fans just like you and have no idea.

But even then, the answer would probably be "maybe" or "someday."

It's possible, but unlikely. Errata should probably be issued for those RATs in ISP3.

Hello,

XTRO: Deep Periphery was cancelled. The units listed on the Escorpion Imperio RAT should be replaced with the followings:

Pride Conventional Fighter = Meteor Heavy Strike Fighter [45 tons]
Thunderbird Strike Fighter = STU-K5 Stuka [100 tons]

Thanks,

- Herb

I figured it was cancelled, but it was worth a shot.

Thanks for the prompt reply :)

I think Primitives 4 is still on the way, given the primitive Archer has an (incomplete, IIRC) entry recently added to the MUL.

Disappointing to hear... I like the oddball stuff on the fringes more usually than the mainstream stuff, so I was looking forward to this book.  :(

I like XTRO's.
Sounds like this would have been a cool book to have.
Even though I don't know much about the Deep Periphery yet, I think this book would have helped flesh out the setting in more detail.

Sad.  I have a particular interest in any product mentioning that part of the universe.  Here's hoping it was canceled because it was deemed unnecessary to fluff out a faction that would soon be over run anyway.

Technically accurate, since technically the Deep Periphery extends outward as far as you want, and therefore includes(and/or at least surrounds) the whole of human space... }:)

I was being particular to the Imperio and Hansa for, well, quite obvious reasons.

I also do like some of the oddball stuff on the fringes

Dang, you missed it. I was agreeing with you that there was little need to fluff out an area that was about to be overrun, since as an area the Deep Periphery contains all of human space.
