ATOW Companion cover

Simple question, are the cyborgs on the cover of the companion supposed to represent some specific group in Battletech canon? They look interesting, I'd like to know more about them.

You should see some of the art in the various Jihad sourcebooks. The Manei Domini range from subtly civilized to downright monstrous. Some of their infantry mods are so weird that they'd likely make even Clanners crap themselves, and I'm talking about warriors who've already experienced an  Elemental swarm attack.
