Test Paint Scheme for a Generic OPFOR
« on: 16 April 2014, 09:40:39 »
Opinions please.

Should it stay or should it go?

Many thanks.

Try painting some Khaki/Tan in a very thin line between the green and dark grey/black
One score and seven years ago, our FASAs brought forth upon this world a new hobby: conceived in giant stompiness, and dedicated to the proposition that all miniatures are created equal (except in scale).

Another for this. BAsically, effective real camo jobs make minis look blah, because they break up the image. Having things a little highlighted helps IMOH. LIkewise, metallics on joints, heat sink grilles or weapon barrels are unrealistic, but help the mini pop more to the eye.

You'd never see an Abrams with yellow hazard stripes, but you'd be suprised how much a few accents can add to the appearance of a mini.,

Thank you all for your feedback.

As I don't want to put too much effort into these plastic horrors (they are for target practice after all) I'm not going to worry too much about detailing (particularly as the detail is so poor). So I'm going with basic tabletop quality paint jobs.

I will change the spot colour to improve the contrast.

Mustard yellow/khaki I think.

Thanks again all.

Now to do the Locust, Thunderbolt and Shadowhawk to round out the lance.
