OK, first up, the Oracle class. Done with HMA, so cost is wrong, and take BV and final cargo with a grain of salt, due to HMA's occasional rounding oddities. Also, I allocated crew as a normal ship, but with the SDS-DAS, half the normal crew mass is automation, and actual crew allocation is 1/4 normal, so I have an extra 76 berths I don't actually need. Consider 'em extra passenger berths or something.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
The oldest of the Malister Republic's WarShip designs, the Oracle class is, at
760,000 tons, a low-end dreadnought. That is, everyone but the Malister
Republic considers it a low-end dreadnought.
The Malister Republic, however, consider the Oracle class to be a frigate.
Given how much they attempted to accomplish in a single hull, it may be an apt
description.
==Capabilities:==
When compared to the Wind Imperium's Exalted class dreadnought, at first
glance, the Oracle seems rather similar. Both vessels are at the low-end of
the dreadnought mass scale, with a maximum acceleration of 49 m/s^2. The
Oracle also has 95% of the Exalted's armor protection, though only 83% of its
structural rigidity.
However, despite massing 60 kilotons more than the Exalted, the maximum
firepower of the Oracle is only 75% that of the larger ship. While the
Exalted fields an impressive battery of thirty heavy naval PPCs, backed by
forty-four 45cm naval lasers, the Oracle's primary armament are its fifty-six
55cm naval lasers. Where the Oracle excels, however, is in anti-fighter and
small craft defenses: while mounting eight fewer 10cm subcapital lasers than
the Exalted, it makes up for this with fourteen AR10 capital missile
launchers. These launchers also work for anti-shipping roles, and the variety
of nuclear warheads available to the three standard missile types carried by
the Oracle are one of the driving forces behind the Wind Imperium's arguably
excessive use of laser anti-missile systems, with the Exalted carrying three
times the 48 LAMS systems carried by the Oracle class.
Perhaps starting the trend of the Malister Republic's use of automated
military hardware, Oracle class frigates are capable of both crewed and
uncrewed operations. Because of this, the Oracle must devote over 50 kilotons
to both its drone control system and to a skeleton crew of 77. Marine
operations are normally handled by spiderlike robotic units referred to as
Tachikomas or Umigumos. Fighter and small craft bays are similarly automated,
and the Oracle class must devote over 18 kilotons of mass to supplemental
command and control systems to direct these drones in combat. This, in turn,
cuts dramatically into the total number of fighters and small craft available:
an Oracle class carries a mere four shuttles, half that of the Exalted, and
only a single 18-ship fighter wing, less than a third that of the Wind
Imperium's workhorse dreadnought.
Compounding the significant mass used by automation are other systems added to
the Oracle class that take mass away that could have been used by additional
combat systems. Oracles have more than twice the cargo mass of an Exalted
class. This, however, comes at the cost of fuel tanks half the size, and only
two docking collars for DropShips, compared to the ten collars standard on
Wind Imperium dreadnoughts. Worse, the Oracle class devotes 5900 tons of mass
to small factory units and a retractable unpressurized. Combined, these
systems provide the Oracle class the ability to support, and even construct,
the Malister Republic's Pioneer and Voyager class robotic KF probes, but
further detracts from the ship's combat ability.
One area where the Oracle does excel, however, is in observation and
coordnation. Possessing an excellent sensor and comm-scanner suite, a Naval
C3 system, and combined with its Autonomous Tactical Analysis Computer
systems, the ship's AI can provide superb early warning and sensor analysis,
both for military and scientific use.
==Variants:==
To date, no confirmed variants of the Oracle have been confirmed, though
rumors indicate that the Verdandi may differ slightly from her sister ships,
possessing less weaponry and additional secondary systems. As the Verdandi
rarely leaves Malister space, however, this has not been confirmed.
Spectroscopic analysis of the vessel's hull indicates the ship appears to be
far older than any other vessel of her class. Initial analysis indicates
significant external repairs were done at some point on the vessel, and
several structural members that have not been repaired showed indications,
based on isotopic spectral lines, that the Verdandi was over 1500 years old.
As this would make the vessel predate FTL spaceflight by any known power by
over a millenium, this is considered patently impossible, leaving the ship an
open mystery.

==Deployment==
When viewed as a primary combat platform, it is no surprise that the Oracle
class frigate falls short of other dreadnoughts of comparable mass. However,
this is not the primary role for which the Malister Republic uses the Oracle
class - for that, they have the Orca class. Instead, Oracles are most often
found providing support and protection for the Republic's many automated
exploration JumpShips, or escorting and supporting merchant shipping, or
serving as the eyes and ears of the swifter Orcas. Oracles should not be seen
as a dreadnought, then, but as two smaller ships, a patrol frigate and support
vessel, crammed into a single larger hull.
