On page 249 of Total Warfare under Damage to Aerospace units in atmosphere it says a unit that goes out of control on the low altitude map loses 1d6 altitude.

Now if the aerospace fighter went out of control at  the end of turn 1 due to a failed control role, it can try to regain control at the end of turn 2 with another control role.  But as it was out of control for all of turn 2 does it lose another 1d6 levels of altitude or would that only happen if it failed its 2nd control role taken at the end of the 2nd turn to regain control?

It only loses 1d6 Altitude on the turn it goes out of control, and only if that loss of control was due to failing the "lawn-dart roll". If the aero unit began the turn out of control, or lost control for any other reason, it only loses 1 Altitude.

Does the "lawn-dart roll" refer to when the aerospace unit is on the low altitude and/or ground map and takes any time of damage from combat?

Bit new to using aerospace on the board, I could not find where it states going out of control loses a standard 1 altitude.

Thanks for the help so far.
