2nd Robison Rangers
« on: 29 April 2011, 08:51:14 »
So I'm not the Greatest Painter on the planet. But I figure I'll share my efforts.
This shall be for sharing my Regiment.

Command Lance 1st Battlion

The Watchman is Driven by Seri Toth. Its the new Draconais March refit with the PPC.

With It's Body Guard to a BlackKnight Sporting some heavy Mods. Bigger engine,Tsm and 2 clan weapons.
Know to my Group as "Big Ed" It tends to suffer from "Keep it away from me syndrome."

The two Nightskys also got the TSM upgrade.

So can generally be found picking on someone bigger than them.

Hey, they look like a unit ;) Consistancy counts as much as detail does. ;) The black knight looks like he's in a pinch ;)

Cheers guys.
I have been Practicing the Window effect and when I feel I can do it well enough I shall add it to them as I can.
Lance 2 of the command company.

Komodo   KIM-3C
Javelin   JVN-11D
Warhammer   WHM-8D
Helios   HEL-C

This is one of two c3'd lances I have in the unit.
The Komodo carries the master and is the command mech.
This lance also contains the last of the heavies in my unit. Both used to snipe at a range the Rangers do not normally preform well at.
The Javelin  is the units advance spotter with the Komodo found somewhere in the middle Dealing Pinging death.

Lance 3 Company 1

Vinny Cartpetner   Shadow Hawk   SHD-5D   3   4
Sandra Crowther   Enforcer III   ENF-6T   3   5
Ciara Duffy   Enforcer III   ENF-6M   4   5
Ian Coleman   Enforcer III   ENF-6T   4   4

The Enforcers have trained to support the Heavy mechs of second lance.  While Carpetners Shadowhawk teams up with the Komodo to support it at a medium distance from the combat.
Once the Gauss rifles have run out of Ammo the Enforcers happily close in attempts to kneecap any Enemy still standing.

Company one ready to leap accross the Border and attack the Dracs no matter what else is happening.

Awesome paint job for the whole Company.

I must say, however, that the Helio model looks kinda.....chubby. I am not digging that sculpt at all...

If its helps its only chubby from the front. And the back. Helios does have Back.
From the side you'd barley see it.

I like the block  the torso. Not sure how even the  greenest warrior couldn't hit it.

Moving on to Second Company.

Andrew Felle   Peregine      3   3
Laura Nagle   Watchman   WTC-4DM   3   5
Des Malloy   Watchman   WTC-4M   3   4
John Cleese   Panther   PNT-12TSM   4   5

Containing the only Clan mech the Rangers have. Dispite the lance being used mainly for defense or Garrison work.
The only other real work is the Panther 12A having TSM installed so the mech could better keep up with the rest of the unit.

Thanks Saatch.
One day I'll have better skills or the money to pay someone to do all the grunt work.
 Till then I make do.

   Mark Hall   Panther   PNT-12TSM   3   4
   Mick Ryu   Griffin   GRF-6S           3      5
   Bob Monkhouse   Lynx   LNX-9Q   3   3
   James Dodsworth   SentrySNT-04   3   5

My Personal Lance in the unit.
Again the Panther gets the TSM Treatment so it can keep apace to its lancemates.
This lance is one of my main Flankers in a force of mostly Flankers. It can generally be found supporting the main fight from one side or the other till they get behind the enemy formations. They all sport at least one Long range punch weapon while still capable of some up close love. The Sentry does tend to get sent hunting Infantry when they appear.

Company 2 Lance 3.

Kieth Suillivan   Bishammon   BSN-4K   4   6
Bill Clinton   Firestarter   FS9-OB   3   5
Andrew Rainey    Trebuchet   TBT-9K   4   5
Homer SimpsonTrebuchet   TBT-9K   4   5

The second of my C3'd lances. Made up of Battlefield Salvage. The c3 isn't must use as most of the mechs are Close ranger Brawlers. Tend to save them for City use to try take advantage of the close range firepower. Due to the Dracy nature of the unit it does tend to have a lot of abuse heaped on it.  Although they are training to operate as the distraction force for The flankers. And the Bishammon has become skilled at scurrying between cover and presenting a tempting target while avoiding enemy fire.

Company 2 ready to roll out.

Seeming as I am commander of the 3rd Lance, I shall share some thoughts

I am in a Bishamon as the first time I ever used one it defected in turn 3...taking down the entire c3 lance it was part of :(. I love the mech but it has never been kind to me

The Firestarter is currently up for replacement as I have a strong (and very unjustified) hatred for that mech. Applications are being accepted as we speak.

Third...Mark has managed to spell my name wrong twice in the roster above :(

Company 3 Lance 1 "Lighting Strike Company"

Bill Joe Armstrong   Wraith   TR1           3   3
Jame Hott                 Sentry   SNT-04   4   5
Will Shierly         Cicada   CDA-3F   3   4
Seth Green         Venom   SDR-9KA   4   5

In command of the recon element. This unit packs the biggest punch to back up the rest of the lances while they do the up close scans.
There are attempts to upgrade the Venoms Heatsinks to Doubles so he does not suffer as much with his heat. So far these attempts have proven unsuccesful.

And now we come to the EW portion of the 1st Battlion.

I lose one of the Spectors arms. And thanks to the kind work of FREAK. I had it replaced with a Banshees arm.

Clancey Wiggam   Stealth   STH-2D   3   4
Kira Moore           Stealth   STH-2D   3   5
Gary Jackson           Spector   SPR-5F   3   4
Dora Goggins        Spector   SPR-5F   3   4

Have spent most of their Training sessions going against the two c3 units in attempts to become better at dropping the enemies c3 networks. The Speed normally keeps them safe enough as they attempt this. But recently
Gary Jackson keeps venturing off on his own in attempts to Push off ledges. His Spector is suffering for his misadventures.
Due to this. Calls to upgrade the Spectors have been refused till he learns to follow the mission details.

The last lance of First Battlion. Is also the littlest one.

Carlos Fraile          Wasp   WSP-3S   3   3
Garth Jones          Jenner   JR7-F   4   3
Jenny Dodsworth    Jenner   JR7-F   4   4
Kieth Chan          Javelin   JVN-11RR   4   5

The Lance preforms purely as a harasser and chase element. They tend to avoid combat unless supported by other units.
Normally the Rangers Wing of Fighters. So Carlos can assist the Air to Ground Arrow in reaching their Targets. The Javelin has had the c3 system removed and a Heatsink added to help it be slightly more combat effective.

Company 3.

I do color code to be able to tell them apart. I have over 12 Enforcers,4 Watchmen,4 Hatchetmen and a lot of other designs that pop up regularly.

I color the back for the company they are in and the front form lance.
It also helps identify the front and rear arc on those designs that arn't always clear what way they are facing.

And as there's often more than a company on the table it's real handy for keeping track of this sea of Red.

It's so cool to see such a large formation with such light mechs. 8)

It's especially cool to see you deploying a dedicated hatchet lance. [notworthy]

DO you hear alot of pissin and moanin when you bring them out? I know I sure do when my very similar lance hits the mat.
