Can I request the Packrat? To my knowledge, it's never gotten a VotW, aside from an old one(also not on the forum) that lumped it in with the Swift Wind and Skulker.

That's actually a fun idea... consider it on the schedule for... well, Sunday should be my next chance to get one done.

Eh, i'm having trouble mustering anything beyond a few comments.  Even the Quirinus, which I was looking forward to being covered in article form has only gotten a "i like it".  Since i've pushed the delivery date back far enough, i'll pack it in.

Any chance the Chevalier is on the horizon?  Or perhaps the Joust?

The Joust has a VotW thread, though it is a repost from the previous forum. The Chevalier has one too.

I wouldn't mind seeing a fresh look at either tank, but the fact remains that they do have existing threads. While we mods do frown on pointless thread necromancy, bringing one of those back up by posting your own insight or experience with the design is definitely okay.

I feel like we can court some discussion with some vehicles that aren't exactly safe.  Arrow IV vehicles and the towed gun series seems like an interesting place to start.

Not if your enemy has TAG. ;)

The Chevalier is an old favorite of mine, I'll probably get to it eventually, but with few variants it'll probably not cover much new ground when I do, to be honest. The Joust I feel like was covered pretty thoroughly at the moment- if I revisit a vehicle, as I did with the Schiltron, I want it to be as an effort to look into a vehicle that hasn't been covered in a while, and since then has something new to talk about- that vehicle had new configs, for example. The Joust is recent enough not to have a whole lot of new stuff to discuss, and the Chevalier didn't really get a whole lot of new stuff either over the past few decades.

Short version, 'not for now' on the Joust, 'on the docket but low priority behind other stuff' for the Chevalier.

Given the frequent mentions of the Yellow Jacket and Hawk Moth in recent VTOLS of the Week, I was surprised to find we don't have articles for them. Apparently, there were several from prior iterations of the forums that didn't survive the transition.

Y'know, that's a good point. Given how often they get mentioned (even in the context of "See that? Don't do that."), you'd think they'd have articles people could reference.

Not sure the Hawk Moth has a problem . . . and the Yellow Jacket, does it really have a problem any more with the revised VTOL rules?

Know what? You have a point. Yellow Jacket is going on the schedule for... ah, September at some point. (I just did a VTOL, not doing two in a row! Plus I have the next two weeks covered by requests and another of my own wishes after that.)

...Sorry, the what now?

(That would be the reason- I didn't know I had to keep an upcoming schedule for this...)

On that note... a hint- todays vehicle is very big and made by lunatics. So... could be just about anyone's heavyweight vee.  O0

Due to my gaming day (normally Saturday) being switched to Sunday this week, VotW (LB-X Carrier) is up a day early. You lucky little bastards, you.

Is there any way any clever person can find to use the internet "wayback machine" or similar to dredge out any of the old -otW articles from dead incarnations of the forums?

And on an unrelated note, can I ask for the Pilum to get a go at some point?

In order...

1) I hope not, in a way. I mean, I did a lot of those articles, and enjoyed them, but... it's one of the reasons I'm going back and re-visiting some of those vehicles. It's been a long time, the original article isn't around, and a lot of them have new versions to discuss anyway. I'm not opposed to them coming back, but I'm sure enjoying going back and doing those units again, mixed with the newer stuff.

2) I can do that. Nothing wrong with some vaguely-phallic LRM-support.

My gaming day got changed this weekend from Saturday to Sunday, so while I'm now at home I'm thinking I could use an early trip to bed rather than typing an article. We'll be talking about a big ol' nasty tank tomorrow (the 15th), but not tonight. Apologies for the inconvenience!

I looked, and I cannot seem to find a VotW for the J Edgar Hover Tank --- wondering if we could swing one of those in?

VotW will return either late tonight or (more likely) Monday evening due to author exhaustion (70-odd hour work week has left me very little time or energy to get it done). Apologies for the inconvenience!

I apologize for my recent silence, guys- it's been a tough couple of weeks at work. My company got purchased by another organization, and the workload as a result has been massive- including my weekends recently. As a result, I've been a rare sight for friends, and hardly get anything done when I get home other than collapsing for a few hours of sleep (or, of course, working more from home. That too.)

I'll have what was supposed to be last week's VotW article up this evening, and I apologize again for the unintended break.  :-\
