Urban Magic

What do you guys think? Suggestions? I got through the most basic bio of the commanding officer, I plan on getting the other starting members done closer to the weekend.

Urban Magic

Founded in 3022 at the behest of Prince Hanse Davion, Urban Magic came to life because of the creativeness of Captain Brian Connor. During a battle on a classified mission, specific details are not available to the public, Captain Connor was left for dead on the battlefield in his broken Enforcer’s cockpit half buried in a swamp. Upon waking he found his unit had been evacuated and his mech was sitting in the middle of the swamp it had fallen in during the battle. His mech was amid several other fallen mechs, and there was no one in the immediate area any longer. From the looks of it, the battle had not favored either side and so they both had moved to positions in another location.
Brian was too weak to try to get to his unit and passed out from the pain. Upon waking he found himself in the farm house of a family on the outskirts of the battlefield he had fallen. After healing for a few days Brian was finally strong enough to get out of bed. He discovered that the family was sheltering him due to his actions on the battlefield, his mech was destroyed due to placing himself in the way of a barrage that would have killed the children while they were watching the battle that raged on their property.

After discussing it with the family it was decided they would help him in returning to his unit, but since their world was considered hostile to his unit he would need a way to get himself to his unit in the battlefield it was engaged in. To aid in this the family allowed him to use their farm to recover salvage from the nearby battlefield that he was found in and to use their barn as a work shop. Though nothing too large could be brought back. In an attempt to keep it to a minimum for the work needed he found the hull of an UrbanMech that was in relatively good shape and then pieced together what he could to get a working unit. The result was what he dubbed a UM-R60C (C for Connor). His newly salvaged UrbanMech was faster than the original due to using the larger engine from a fallen Commando, but the auto-cannon was not able to be salvaged so he swapped it for a PPC he found in a fallen Banshee along with some additional cooling from a heatsink he pulled from his own fallen Enforcer.

On his journey back to his unit, he was able to surprise his enemies thanks to the faster speed his UrbanMech possessed.

His timing was very fortunate, he managed to barely make it back to his unit in time to make a withdrawal from this world. His faster than normal UrbanMech was able to surprise enemies on the field causing them to not be able to keep the better positioning they needed and in the end helped him down three light mechs during the final stages of the withdrawal.

After his unit returned to Davion space, he was ordered to a meeting of the most unexpected sort. Hanse Davion had requested his presence.

During this meeting, he was made an offer. This offer was proposed by the Prince himself. Prince Davion had a plan that was already set in motion, and he needed the help of a loyal and creative officer to make sure that the plan succeeded. Who was Captain Connor to refuse, so the offer was accepted. He was given an assigned transport – an ancient Liberty class Jump Ship and a Leopard class Drop Ship – and was to assemble a unit to go on an extended mission. His choice in mechs would be the most unusual part of his mission, he chose 4 customized UrbanMechs.

Name: Brian Connor
Assignment: Commanding Officer, Urban Magic, Captain
Brian was a gifted early learner when it came to piloting a mech. At only 12 he got his first chance to pilot a mech, a family friend allowed him to take the controls of a militia mech on the training field. Ever since then he focused on being the best he can be at being a MechWarrior. At 17 he graduated high school and went into the FiltVelt Mechwarrior Academy and was assigned to a training battalion until he finally got a shot at joining the Davion Heavy Guard. Serving with distinction until his final battle on a classified mission after which he was given a mission by Prince Hanse Davion.

Name: Adriana Lewis
Assignment: Executive Officer, Urban Magic, Lieutenant
Adriana was going to retire from the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns when she received a communique from a former comrade in arms - Captain Brian Connor. When she heard he had received an assignment from the Prince of the Federated Suns himself, she could not dishonor her nation by not accepting. Then she learned she would be put into an UrbanMech, it was definitely not what she had hoped for. However over the last few months she has grown quite comfortable in her UM-R60C and has been growing fonder of it each day.

To be continued… More coming soon!

Commando is lighter, so it is 5/8/2 due to the engine change. hopefully I'll be able to post more by Saturday.

I posted the urbie in another thread.
