Having become marginally irked with the options for affordable off-board Sniper artillery support (the 50-tonner only has one ton of ammo, preventing ammo switching, and the 80-tonner is rather costly), I threw this together, based on the South African G6 mobile howitzer, but without the turret, to keep weight and cost down. If you're that far away from the fight, you can turn to face the battle. If the fight catches up with you, you should have turned tail some time ago.

G6 Sniper Artillery Vehicle
IS advanced
45 tons
BV: 307
Cost: 1,253,175 C-bills

Movement: 5/8 (Wheeled)
Engine: 205

Internal: 20
Armor: 32
                     Internal    Armor
--------------------------------------
Front                       5       10
Right                       5        8
Left                        5        8
Rear                        5        6

Weapon                         Loc  Heat
----------------------------------------
Sniper                          FR    10

Ammo                           Loc Shots
----------------------------------------
Sniper Ammo                     BD    10
Sniper Ammo                     BD    10
Sniper Ammo                     BD    10

Equipment                      Loc

Trailer Hitch                   RR

And then I decided to reduce the budget further by making an ICE version. Which meant cutting the speed so I could fit the engine in without losing functionality, but which also meant that I could throw on another ton of armour, probably to a certain amount of relief among crews. Doesn't save much in BV terms, as it's pretty much equally effective, but halves the financial outlay.

Yes, they'd both need escorts, but what do you expect for low-budget rear-echelon artillery carriages?

(Attachment contains the .blk files, for anyone wanting to add it to their MM games.)
"That's Lieutenant Faceplant to you, Corporal!"

Things that I have learnt through clicking too fast on 'Move Done' on MegaMek: Double-check the CF of the building before jumping onto it, check artillery arrival times before standing in the neighbouring hex, and don't run across your own minefield.

"Hmm, I wonder if I can turn this into a MM map."

I do believe I shall have to steal the ICE one. *Yoink* It's only marginally slower, but it costs about half as much and has better armor. Not much better, but better all the same. It might stop a few more rocks and broken bottles.
