Pretty sure Paul wrote the intro fiction piece where that is answered. At the very least he's read it.

Let's hope it was treated better than the intro fiction to the TechManual.... :-\

I haven't got my hands on the Second Succession War to give any spoilers but I have a feeling if it had a soundtrack it would be this :D :

Question, of the 'big two' (as i'd say the 1st and 2nd Succssion wars were by far the biggest of the conflicts) what was the more destructive?  Was the 2nd Succession War the 'war to end all wars' or did the 2nd just kind of bomb the already smoking rubble and break it up into smaller chunks?

I'm partial to Tom Lehrer, but I do think he's one  or two tracks perfect for the 2nd SW even if they might need minor lyrical massaging... :)

Haven't read the whole thing, but that unit is NOT 100% destroyed from what I see in the summary tables. Not sure about anything beyond that!

Considering the hardcopy folks are paying a lot more for their product than the PDFers, I'd not mind the reverse being true - things that might be 'redacted' in the PDF given a little extra touch in the hardcopy.  Though, in all honest, I much prefer the same product with simply different delivery methods, this way there's no silliness or recriminations over X being better than Y.

Besides, PDFs are objectively better just for being searchable.

Heh, maybe that text is selectable in the soft copy format.  Deliciously evil.  I wouldn't support trolling real book buyers, and I suspect their .pdf sales are pretty good anyway if only because that's the format first available for most fans.

We talked (briefly) about doing something like this in one of the jihad storyline books. Since it would likely have been received more as "punishing print buyers" and less as "giving a cool little bauble to PDF buyers" we walked away from the idea.

The Tetatae have been suborned by the Tanite Brain Slugs.

I would prefer tha tthey didn't--the more that happens, the less room there is for campaign-specific stories.  I don't mind a battletech version of the mystery of Roanoke island.

So very much this. Remember, Battletech is still a game universe. The sorts of things are there for players and GMs to use and incorporate into their games and stories.

It's not meant to be a straightforward "everything is explained at the end" narrative. That kind of undercuts the whole point of a game universe

Except when it has been done to excess, as it has with the Wolverines.  Personally, I find these ongoing references more annoying than enjoyable.  At this point, I really do not care if they ever do definitively reveal the fare of the Wolverines. Much like the ilClan.  To each their own, of course.  I realize I am probably in the minority on this one.

My apologies if I seemed overly critical, and my thanks for your spoilers.  I am just tired of the constant mysteries that never seem to be resolved, only added to.  Although you intrigue me with this war of cheese... that sounds very like the last match I played.  So much Clantech we thought it should have been called Operation Velveeta!  Please spoil away!
