Melee weapons and hand actuators?
« on: 21 June 2017, 21:59:09 »
I was looking over some of my miniatures and it occurred to me that mechs like the Scarabus and Cudgel don't have a hand actuator for their melee weapons.

Doesn't that count AGAINST their attacks, and make the designs kind of foolish?

The official record sheets for the Scarabus and Cudgel in 3055U: Unabridged have hand actuators.

You bought the box set and are ready to expand your bt experience. Now what? | Modern Sourcebook Index | FASA Sourcebook Index | Print on Demand Index

Head canon: The melee weapon for the Scarabus and Cudgel work like a glove or gauntlet, fitting over the hand actuator until the mechwarrior chooses to jettison the modular weapon.

That would actually make sense.

That said, lacking a hand actuator doesn't affect every battlemech, as long as they have the barrel fist quirk, like the BNC-3S.

So it just boils down to artistic license then by both the illustrator and the sculptor. O0
