Hello all!!! This is for my Periphery Rising fan thing I have on the forums here- http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=51312.0
This will have all the tech and whatnot for my Periphery Rising fan thing. I'll try to keep it simple for now, but I will update all the tech I post here when I can.
So enjoy the new tech, and ask questions if your unsure of something. I'll do my best to clears things up.

History:
The Assault Rifle was created by a former FS Captain who's homeworld was continually attacked by the CC, and the FS did very little to protect it. After she retired from the military, she started working on a weapon to combat stealth armor.Looking into how to counter stealth armor with a weapon, she remembered the the stealth armor is based off of older tech mixed with new tech. So she looked into the past to see if there was a weapon the she could work with.She discovered the the old Rifle had the potential to evolve into a new weapon. After designing a prototype, she showed it to the FS military, but stated they didn't need anything like this. And that basing it off of such old tech was pointless. Then her homeworld was attacked by the CC again. Again the FS did very little. After this she decided to leave the FS for a place where her family would be far from both the FS and CC. She moved to the MH who were interested in new weapon development at the time. After showing them her weapon, the MH agreed to start the development of the new weapon, but from scratch. This proved to be the best action to take, since the MH was willing to invest so much into the weapon.


Explanation:
The reason For the AR shell doing 2x dmg to stealth armor, is that the shell has a electro-magnetic battery in it, near the tip of the projectile. When the projectile hits the target, the EMB is ignited, and the electrical charge is sent into the hole of the armor during the explosion. Modern AC ammo was not capable of holding the EMB for reasons that are still somewhat unknown. But Rifle ammo could hold the EMB. Some believe it's because Rifle shells are so large for a smaller weapon. This EM burst affects the heat baffles and components inside the specially designed armor plating. This creates a sort of splash dmg in a 1 meter radius of the point of impact. There is also a 1 in 20 chance of a weapon, or limb joint glitching out when hit. The weapon refuses to fire, or the elbow joint goes limp and drops to the side of the mech, etc. This side effect lasts only for a few seconds, then the affected item returns to normal. On non-stealth armor this side effect has a 1 in 80 chance of happening. And only last for a fraction of a second.
Somewhat similar to a PPC blast messing with your HUD and radar.

Hello all,
This will be the first two new Battlemechs that I will be posting here. They don't use any of my original weapons. I'm still working on those mechs, and will post them when I'm done. Granted these are done using SSW. For the original weapons, I'll be partially using SSW. So here they are. And yes, you can use them in you own BT campaigns and universes. Please not that the "Production Year: 3333" is not canon for my thing. Since I don't state actual years, just think of it as at fill-in date. And since i was gone for so long, I've updated myself on how the BT-verse is going. This won't alter my alt-verse. At least, not the first 100 years. after I have everything down for that, I'll see how the next 100 years will be, while trying to add all the new stuff from BT prime.

EDIT: I'm now adding  years to my machines. sort-of. This is mainly to give everyone a better time frame of when the mechs and such came out and when events happened. Some will still have the 3333, though.

I know all of you saw this one coming. It was a give-in.

Overview:
Considered the fully upgraded version of the CN9-H, this was to be the main
medium mech for the Hegemony. It appeared six years before the war with the
FWL, and proved its worth during the military actions before the conflict. But
it became apparent that the mech wasn't fit for defensive actions during the
war.


Capabilities:
To make the mech stand out from the original, MAI and ATC modified the frame to
look more like a fully armored Ceturion from ancient Terra, giving it the more
rugged look. Retaining the Autocannon the CN9-H had, but doubling its ammo, was
seen as the best course to take. With an even split with the types of
ammunition, the mech could deal with battle armor and mechs fairly well. To
make sure the pilot survives an ammo explosion, CASE was added. With four
Rocket Launchers, three 10's and one 20, it was believed this would be enough
for the shock strikes the mech was going to take part in. The standard medium
laser was upgraded to an ER one, and another laser added to the rear.
Being powered by a powerful 250 light engine, imported from the Lyran company
Heracles Engines, gave this variant of the Centurion greater speed, and more of
a shock value to its opponents. Eleven double heat sinks keep the mech cool
without much trouble when not in a hot enviroment or in heavy fighting. Eight
tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor makes this sturdy mech even more so. Unfortunately,
flaws with its armor became apparently clear during the FWL war.
First was that the armor had issues with extended strain in colder climates.
Second was that the armor took longer to repair when time was short. And third
is the fact that the rear of the mech has little armor. The designers didn't
think rear armor was needed as much, since the mech was meant for attacking,
and not defending. The heat sinks also have issues dealing with heat if the
mech is in constant combat, causing random shutdowns while in battle. Due to
these flaws, after the war Marian Arms created another variant to fill in for
the defensive positions the -H4 wasn't meant for.


Deployment:
I Legio, II Legio and IV Legio have recieved the most of the -H4's. With the
tactics these units use, the -H4 was meant for them. Unfortunately, after the
war, the -H4 was looked down on due to its poor performance. Most of those that
survived were given to new pilots in favour of better suited mechs. When the
-H6 was sent to fill in the defencive roles the -H4 failed at, those same -H4's
were teamed up with -H6's. Both variants are sold on the open market, but only
a handfull are ever listed for sale by the Hegemony. At ATC's rebuilt plant on
Perdition in the Taurian Concordat, this is not the case. While both are built
there, the -H6 is produced more for the TDF. More of the -H4 and -H6 are sold
to all interested parties in this part of space, including the Federated Suns.


Variants:
After the war the -H6 was developed. It had an Ultra AC/10 in place of the LB
10-X with three tons of ammo. Replacing the Rocket Launchers is an MML-7 with
two tons of missiles. The two ER medium lasers are kept, and CASE is epuipped
in both torsos. The engine is lowered to a 200 rating, making its speed closer
to other Centurions. Its armor is now better placed, giving better protection
in the rear. Most other issues were dealt with during the development of this
design.

another Centurion. It's mostly paired with the -H4, covering for that models
flaws. In the TC, the -H6 is produced more than the -H4, and sold to all who
need it.


Additional:
This variant is for defencive actions. When attacking, its always paired with
the -H4 variant, due to that variants weak rear armor and poor defencive
capabilities.
This mech and its variant looks like the MWO Centurion.
The Great Caesar Class X Ultra AC/10 and others in the family are Marian
(Marian Arms Incorporated) built weapons, removing the need to import or
licence another brand.

Overview:
With the start of the alliance with the LC, the MH had greater access to newer
technologies. As such, the MHAF decided to use some of that tech in creating a
new medium fire support mech. The WHITWORTH was already being refitted in
Hegemony space, so it was chosen to be the testbed for the new weapon system.
TechWizards, LTD. was given the honor of building the new mech, finally
upgrading their worksite to build battlemechs.


Capabilities:
The main weapon of this WHITWORTH is a pair of Extended LRM-5's. With their
longer range, they would provide better support at long ranges, despite what
little damage they do. But with that extra range came with the drawback of a
greater minimum range. For this the MHAF had two small pulse lasers and a
medium pulse laser installed. The chassis is a Marian-made endo-steel frame.
With this change, the mech looks a little bulkier than normal, but this isn't
much of a change. After the first pruduction run, the bulkiness was fixed, and
the frame looks like a normal one. Protecting the mech is Marian Arms' Ferro
Fibrous armour, giving greater durability. Finally CASE protect the ammo for
the ELRMs.


Deployment:
The -2H has been sent to every Legio, replacing older medium fire support mechs
of the same wieght class. Unfortunately, TechWizards, LTD. has been having
issues building the mechs on time. This is mainly due to the ELRMs being
imported from the LC.

Quick question for all who come here: do any of you know where i can get a builder program like ssw, heavymetal, etc, that currently "work", for things like battle armour, infantry, conventional fighters and all things aerospace (fighters, small craft, dropships, jumpships, warships, space stations, etc) ?

Sadly, no.  I have hope that the Solaris crew will eventually expand in those directions (I still think they have the BEST user interface, hands down), but they're still working on all the fiddly bits of 'mechs and vehicles...

MegaMekLab addresses all the units you listed, including most of them in Primitive/Retro tech as well. It has some idiosyncrasies, frex not always updating weight immediately when incrementing or decrementing number boxes, but IMHO you can work around most of that.

Overview:
It may have taken five years for the MHAF to field Assault Rifles on anything
other than static weapons, but eventually mechs and vehicles had been equipped
with them. With this, the SURCULUS became the first vehicle to mount the new
weapons, and has proved to be a deadly machine against most opponents it faces.


Capabilities:
Like all hover craft, speed is its main weapon, but the SURCULUS also has heavy
armor, making it harderto kill than it already was. Its only offencive weapon,
a Light Assault Rifle with one ton of ammunition, give the SURCULUS enough bite
to ward off potential hunters. Its range is limited, but that's more of a
blessing for the target, instead of a hindrance for the craft. As with most
other Assault Rifle-equipped machines, the SURCULUS is best used against
stealth-armored targets


Deployment:
The SURCULUS has been sent to every Legio in great numbers. The MHAF brass want
it spread to every unit they have, even planetary militia's have either bought
or been given them. It is also sold on the open market to all who are
interested. Many mercenaries have bought them as fast as they're listed,
proving it to be a big seller.


Notable 'Mechs & MechWarriors:
The Suicide Squad: A unit of seven SURCULUS in the Cohors Morituri. This unit
is known for charging head first into enemy formations, firing at everything in
range. As of this writing, they've lost four craft, but none of the crews.
There are rumours that some members are trying to make the unit larger than
just the seven. So far every request has been refused, all seventy-eight
requests.

Overview:
The SCUTUM (Shield) is meant as a field command mech, directing forces to where
they're needed, while also fighting alongside said forces. Despite being meant
as a command mech, it has made a name for itself as a front-line fighter,
holding its own against bigger, and more capable, mechs.


Capabilities:
It's weapons are all energy-based, allowing it to stay on the field for long
periods of time. An ER PPC provides the mech with great range, while being
backed-up by the Black-Hound Light Cannon, a product from that 'secret' mission
to GIBSON. In a need to make the weapon different from the ones used by the
WoB, the cannon has been re-enforced internally, making the weapon far more
durable than any other snub-nose PPC. backing up the PPC's are three medium
lasers, and an AMS with CASE to protect the mech from missile fire. It stays
cool with fifteen double heat sinks, and has the maximum amount of
ferro-fibrous armor it can carry, making it very hard to take down.


Deployment:
At first the SCUTUM was given to lance and company commanders, but it quickly
shifted to becoming the standard heavy mech in most companies in every legio.
Some of the more prosperous Marian planets have them in their militias.

LOL yeah. was looking for a weapon not really used by anyone. Was between the Blazer Cannon and the Bombast laser. Chose the Blazer Due to it being used less than the Bombast (I actually spent time looking), making it more of a choice for the MH. Surprise weapon against the MH's enemies. And it makes the weapon more distinct, being used more in the periphery than IS proper.

History:
The Laser Missile Launcher was created by a collaboration between the warrior and scientist castes of the Raven Alliance, to deal with the growing amount of warriors being arrogant and disrespectful to older generations of warriors, and all other castes. For several decades, military graduates and sibko graduates have been very unruly towards past generations of warriors, as well as members of other castes in the RA. To deal with this problem, members from both the scientist and warrior castes secretly started developing a new weapon, just to test it on these new "warriors". After six years of development, the Laser Missile Launcher was tested on one of the newer graduates that
likes gloating about their abilities. A Solahma mechwarrior using the "lesser" non-clan version of the weapon, challenged the newer graduate in a testing duel. The Solahma mechwarrior was in a modified -1A9 Charger, equipped with the new missile launcher (this version would later become the first Charger IIC variant, and the -2R12 IS variant), while the new graduate was in a Omen. The graduate was told to not move until the first volley of missiles hit them. To everyone's surprise, they freaked out when lasers came out of the missiles before they hit them. After that the aging mechwarrior proved superior to the new graduate, defeating the new graduate, and earning the veteran warrior the first Charger IIC when the first one is built. The graduate became more respectful after the weapons test.

Explanation:
The missile warhead is split between the standard warhead, and the laser lens, which is powered by either a gas, liquid, or electric battery. Through all the testing, all three can be used to power the laser. There's enough room in the missile to support the three power sources. The preferred source is the battery, but the chemical storage is a close second. The laser only goes off when the missile is within 90 meters of the target, and has the hitting strength of a standard small laser. So, 3/Msl is really 2/Msl+1. The missile does both impact and energy damage, negating armours that defend better against either if the missile and laser both hit the target. Standard rules apply for AMS, but the laser will still fire if it reaches 90 meters from the target. There is a 1 in 60 chance of the launcher failing to load the missiles if hit by any single attack that does more than 50 damage. This will cause a 2 turn delay of using the LML. This will require the player(pilot) to restart the weapon, turning it off then on again, resetting the auto-loading system for the LML. This affects both IS and Clan variants. If any single attack does more than 80 damage to the LML while missiles are loaded in the tubes, there's a 1 in 90 chance of causing the loaded missiles to explode, destroying the weapon and the placement area of the weapon. Damage is equal to the number of missiles loaded times 2, eg. 6 for LML-3 in the turret of a tank. Due to this, integral CASE was built into the launchers themselves, mitigating some of the damage from the launchers destruction. Times 2 damage is the result of the integral CASE. The weapon cannot use any of the known FCS, IS or Clan. This is due to the weapon having a similar FCS to streak missiles. This system has two settings: the standard fire without a lock-on setting like most LRM's and SRM's have, and a must-have lock-on setting streak missiles all have. This can be switched by the user before and after firing the weapon. The missiles laser will not fire on IS version if the target is within 150 meters of the user (pilot). The Clan version will not fire if target is within 120 meters of the user (pilot). C3 computers, TAG, Narc and iNarc all work for both IS and Clan LML's. As stated above, LML's can be placed in vehicle and mech turrets.

The missiles themselves look like ATM missiles, but bulkier due to the extra weight in them. The launchers are also like ATM launchers, but bulkier. They're also in a triangular shape instead of the box shape of the ATM's.

Yes, they do fire in volleys, but each missile is fired individually in the volley, not as one. This is due to their bulkiness. Kind of like modern rockets in our universe.

Overview:
With a need for a standard heavy mech to be produced within the Hegemony, the
higher-ups at MAI chose to bring the Thunderbolt into the Hegemony. Using the
same frame produced in the TC, this T-bolt looks slightly different, but still
recognizable to everyone.


Capabilities:
As with the ELRMs, the PPC is a standard weapon for any heavy mech. Unlike the
ELRMs, the  PPC is produced more, making it much easier to export. With the
PPC, this T-bolt has a standard main weapon. Despite the lack of enough ELRMs,
this didn't stop MAI from adding it to the design, being the only advanced
long-range weapon they have available. With plenty of ammunition, the ELRM can
sustain fire for a long period of time. A trio of ER lasers act as its in-close
weapons, and a pair of light machine guns are used for anti-infantry and crowd
control if needed.


Deployment:
Due to limited supplies of ELRMs, not many are produced, so all that are made
are given to Principes's in every Legio when possible. When ELRM's become more
plentiful, the MHAF plans to spread the mech out more.

Overview:
With the advent of the Assault Rifle, the MHAF needed a mech to showcase the
weapon alongside the SURCULUS STRIKE CRAFT. The CENTURION, with centuries of
service, was chosen to showcase the new weapon as a viable counter to stealth
armored units.


Capabilities:
The CENTURION has stood against one advancement after another, always able to
weather the change. Stealth armor has remained a problem for all who face it,
and with the Hegemony bordering the MOC, who uses many stealth armored units,
had made the MHAF wary to tempt them into any type of conflict. So when a
former FS Captain came to the Hegemony with plans for a new type of weapon, one
that counters and damages stealth armor greatly, the MHAF's brass took the
chance to develop it, and were rewarded with a proven weapon all their own. The
HAF may not have the best range or damage, but when used right, namely against
stealth armor, it can be devastating. The Nova Roma Assault Rifle looks just
like the standard AC that the CENTURION is so known for, confusing those who
face it. It still carries the standard LRM-10 rack, but upgrades the lasers to
ER versions. But what make this CENTURION more of a threat, is its HERA 250
light enigine, making the mech move at over 86kph. This alone has made pirates
run in fear of this mech advancing faster than expected. When the CN10-H is
paired with the TORMENTUM SOLARIS MBT, most stealth mechs fall after a short
battle.


Deployment:
The first sighting of this mech wasn't with the MHAF, but with 'raiders'
hitting the worlds of Thraxa, Booker and Astrokaszy, in a span of 4 months.
These raids proved the AR was effective against stealth-armored units,
surprising many that such a weapon was so effective against stealth armor.
After these raids, the mech showed up in the MHAF evenly with all Legio.


Variants:
During the development of the -H, the H2 came to be, but the new missile
launchers from the RA were not fully ready. The -H2 has a Corean Light Gauss
Rifle as it main weapon. the Gauss Rifle was from the efforts taken on GIBSON
by the MH's search for anything worth salvaging. Its missiles are the new
6-tube Laser Missile Launchers developed in the RA. As with the -H, the lasers
are the same.
