Gen Con 2017 New Releases
« on: 13 August 2017, 17:33:41 »
I didn't see this anywhere else on the forums but what do you think of this?!

Edited: Just saw the other post about this...

Its from the Catalyst Game Labs website. I hope the new miniatures in the box set and beginners box set are the new resculpts of the Warhammer, Maruader, etc.

Here is the link.

I think the beginners box set is an excellent idea. Should rope in some fresh meat, er... new players.

I am curious to know what will be the major differences between the two box sets (other than the obvious ones).

And keep that new artwork coming  :) :)

I wonder if there's going to be an official announcement with info on all this stuff at some point or am I going to have to dig through the forum for any info.   I'm really curios as to what's up with that crossfire box.

If the Beginners box can be played in a short amount of time, it will do great for Battletech.

2 mechs, intro box rules? Quick, but only if play is at that scale or AS rules for lance on lance are used.

If it does use the intro box rules you don't really have to worry about internal damage or crit rolling since once the armor is gone the location is gone, which does speed up games A LOT.

VERY highly doubt that any of the "Macross" Unseen Classics will be included due to... difficulties, and won't be until the... difficulties... are cleared up  >:(  :(  :'(. However, the door has been left open for the other Classics, and since the Thud and Griffin are on the mockup boxes, the likelihood of them being included is pretty high  ;D

I really hope there is some AS rules and info in one of the boxes. We've really been enjoying playing games of Battletech and finishing in less than a couple of hours, with multiple lances per side!

Well, that's the GenCon preview. They tend to make major announcements at and after GenCon.

There's still a few boxes that didn't get into that photo, not to mention, a lot of stuff from inside the boxes will be on display.  8)

I want both, but first I need the 2nd Succession Wars book in my hands. When does the DTF version get released?

Didn't Adrian mention that the 2nd SW book would be at GenCon? If so then they should have it out within the next month or so.

I'm headed up to Indy tonight (Still need to get some dullcote on the mini's I'm bringing!) but I THINK I left myself some time around when the vendor hall opens to go stop by the CGL and IWM booths. I'll make sure to leave some extra drool marks for the folks who can't make it  ;D

If you see me up there, feel free to say hi. I will be at the BT tables a couple times, and will probably be wearing BT shirts most days. I am not terribly recognizable, but my last name is Sadler, so if you see that on a badge and it isn't being worn by an asian lady with a large, red scythe, there is a good chance it's me!

I'm going to be frank - if you're not coming to the booth to buy something hard-to-get/convention exclusive (like our dice and t-shirts), you're going to want to avoid the booth for the first two hours. Usually around noon on Thursday is when it starts to calm down, when we (booth people) can take our first breaths.

Unless, of course, you like that mass pandemonium. In which case I'd suggest you get as close to Entrance H as you can. We're the first booth inside those doors, you literally can't miss us.
