As a newer player who saw the previous $60 box have 26 minis to the new one have only 8 is a huge disappointment. I think any player would choose more mini's over a novella. Maybe include a lnk to download the pdfs and provide more mini's. At least have 16 mechs, $60 for 8 is far too steep.

Looking good  O0, despite the fact that the maps are paper as opposed to cardboard  :(  I didn't mean to sound too nitpicky about the new maps,  At least I still have my cardboard maps from my other post 2007 box sets

Hopefully someone will pop in with the answer, but I believe these minis are a much higher quality plastic, more details, and such. Which just so happens to be more expensive than the ones made previously.

There are better, and close-up, pictures of the mechs in the current New & Upcoming Releases thread.
That being said, I do agree if the GoAC box is still $60, I think that's a bit much. If the GoAC box is closer to $40, I can live with that. Also, That new Introbox (w/the Griffin & Wolverine) better be in the $20-$25 range.

It says "Plastic miniatures of" - not "one of each."  Can we get an official statement, of, perhaps, a pair of each of those 'mechs in the set making for a 16 GLORIOUS-quality minis?  They're the same ones, so the only cost is a few cents of extra plastic.

Actually Adrian confirmed it on one of the other GenCon '17 related threads.
Where do you get 2 lances from??
2 lances, yup.

So that, to me, means 8 mechs in the GoAC box and 2 mechs in the new introbox.

Noticed will have to get both sets to get all the models. Not that I mind if priced correctly. Traditionally starter box sets of late are super cheap.

Yep, it was even mentioned in the BT International facebook page which is where the guy I was badgering had found it.

The starter box was supposed to be in the $20 range. I *hope* that the GoAC is in the $40 range.
As for it being $60... that much no one has confirmed, but like everyone else 8 pieces of plastic even with cardboard maps for $60?? No, not worth it. This is not 40K or X-Wing where you can charge whatever you want and people will pay for it.

I say this now, the larger the volume CGL orders the cheaper it is for them to produce. Do not go the cheap route and do a minimum order and expect new and old players to pay a higher price for someone being cheap. It might take awhile, but these have the classic mechs in them. People will buy them out quickly.

The images of the back of the boxes are $59.99 (8 mechs) and $24.99 (2 mechs). So $85 for both containing 10 mechs. At least these are full hex size compared to old ones.

These minis appear much nicer than previous sets.  Personally, I would rather have quality over quantity.

The equivalent minis from IWM would cost probably $15 each or more.  As long as the quality is close or comparable to the metal versions, the price is fine for the box sets.

Of course we don't know if there will be metal versions as of yet.  What if CGL decides to make these mechs exclusive to the box sets?  No IWM version.  Would the sets be worth buying then?

Well @Sentinel373 mentioned in the current New and Upcoming Releases thread that the Shadow Hawk for the GoAC box isn't going to be the IWM sculpt.
I havent started on the Commando yet, and the Awesome isn't even redesigned yet. but the commando's new design is pretty cool :)

As for the Catapult and Shadowhawk (this is a different model than the one ironwind made) this will be revealed sooner than you might think :P stay tuned

Woah was all excited till i saw the price and how few minis you get. Plus im rather tired of I.S. only mechs.
I will say im glad to see cgl doing something, but im tired of all the love going to succession era products....im almost turning into a clan version of a grognard, so im waiting for golden age with the patience of a 5 year old.on Christmas night.

What are these Mechwarrior Cards spoken of on the back of the box and now are they used in play?

Well, that is a mockup so hopefully that isn't going to be the actual price. I really want those boxes but I don't see paying $60 for so few minis... The $25 box maybe.. it does look like it has a new map, or at least one not in my collection of old FASA maps.

Both maps look to be new. Not just revamped art, but 100% brand new maps. :)

Nice! The other kinda looked new but wasn't sure, the other though... nice dirt road marks made it scream new but I don't have *ALL* of the old maps so wasn't sure.

Yeah, dont get me wrong the plastics look ****** awesome and are cheaper than buying those minis outright.  I'll end up getting over it and purchasing one because i wanna get the gf into it without resorting to Megamek. But till then snarl snarl gripe cause its just the mock up and subject to change, thus i shall mewl like a wounded cat due to having nothing better to do with my time.

When are ba gonna get love and put in a box set? If it was 8 mechs, star of battle armor and some tanks..id break my screen trying to shove money through it.

I though the $20 dollar box was a reach considering the Fan Pro Battle Packs and Starter Books went for $20 for paper. Add the fact Fasa's last Box, the 4th Edition did not have any mini's and allot of people complained about the mini's in the 25th Anniversary box, I'm not surprised that CGL is going for quality vs quantity.

The answer is on Facebook and quoted on the main/front page. The boxes are mock-ups. Contents and prices are not set in stone. The info is there to give a general idea how the products will appear.

Considering the lance packs were $20 for 4 units... and the old intro box was 24+2 for $60...

But at any rate, the display for the units, box, and map for both is excellent. The GoAC box doesn't really need a story as was displayed, but I do wonder if it will have one or two maps and if they will be paper or cardboard.

Has there been any official word on the remaining contents yet?

Looking at the maps, here is what I would like but will not happen.

The area on the maps in the pictures that say "water" or "woods"

Instead of those being printed right on the map, I want them to be heavy cardboard overlays that are double sided that I can lay on a map where ever I want.  Also create rivers and mountain overlays so once again I can position them where I want.  Give me generic dessert or grassland maps and then let me use the overlays.  This would make game play with even paper maps more flexible and dynamic to configure.  I do not believe that should cost all that much more.  Or, provide them as part of a terrain pack.

I will not complain about the price until I really know the contents.

The new plastic does look much better and I hope that it is a harder PVC plastic versus the softer plastic of previous figures.
