Edit: Since I was stupid and put torpedos on it instead of SRM's I will leave up that as a possible naval mech that shoots torpedo's off the side of the ship, while being bad at its job. Fixed it so now has SRMs

Overview:
The Black Heart, during its development phase on Terra in 3067, was erroneously thought to be a special Mech meant for the Blakist Militia's elite Manei Domini. In reality, the Black Heart turned out to be a mere side project meant to divert ComStar's eyes from the Celestial OmniMech series. Even so, the Krupp engineers who designed this Heavy Mech managed to create a surprisingly adept fighting machine.


Capabilities:
The Black Heart's basic design and chassis were based loosely on that of Felifious Bander's Bandersnatch, which Krupp bought the rights to for a fraction of the price of other chassis. The use of Endo-steel for the chassis' construction increases costs but frees up weight, which is used to pile a truly impressive amount of armor onto the Mech. Even more weight is freed up by the use of an Extra-light fusion engine.

A pair of Light Gauss Rifles form the core of the Black Heart's armament. They are backed up by a pair of standard Medium Lasers, a trio of the new Multi-Missile Launchers, and an experimental Laser AMS. The use of primarily long-ranged weaponry was intended to help mitigate the vulnerability of the Mech's XL engine. Additionally, the Black Heart can connect to a C3i network, ubiquitous among Blakist forces, thus improving its accuracy and coordination.


Deployment:
The Word of Blake Militia and Protectorate Militia between them fielded all Black Hearts known to exist, with the exception of about forty that were sold to Blakist-friendly mercenary units, thirty used by the Blakists' Circinian allies, and about a dozen that were captured in varying levels of disrepair by Coalition forces.

It's not known how many Black Hearts were built at the Krupp factory on Terra, or the Gibson Federated facility, to whom Krupp licensed the design at the behest of Precentor Martial St. Jamais, but the number is thought to be at least five hundred, perhaps six.


Variants:
The original version of the Black Heart mounted a brace of SRM-4 racks for close-in combat, but lacked the Laser AMS system and the MMLs. The first 100 or so Black Hearts were of this type. Not all of them were refitted by the time Terra was retaken.

The mercenary/export version replaced the Laser AMS with a standard AMS, used MRM-10s for the missile racks, and lacked the C3i unit. It also used LB-10X autocannons in place of the gauss rifles. This variant had chronic ammunition problems.

The Blakists' unwilling Circinian allies made their own version using a standard skeleton and pilfered weapons. It saw little action prior to Circinus' nuclear destruction, apart from a few raids on Son Hoa and some Marik border worlds. The only Black Hearts remaining in operation are of this type, and are invariably in Marian or pirate usage.

I did some tweaking with the design, dropped the ECM on the base unit and put in the iC3. I took out the XL gyro and small cockpit, both of these were not available when the mech was made, as it is a civil war era mech for the WoB. Probably place its initial production date at 64-65 era. Overall it is placed firmly in line as a hole puncher with its light Gauss as it strides up, and hoses down the foe with its SRMs.
