Halo Ships?
« on: 29 September 2017, 14:46:18 »
Has anyone made conversions of the Halo Spacecraft??? Just want to have a base idea for some ships.

I guess its a little late to get miniatures of the Halo Spacecraft seeing that Spartan Games are out of business and the Halo line is in limbo now.

I tried these ages ago the Halcyon and Pelican.  I'm sure I saw others previously

Cool thanks.
Sometimes it helps to have a base idea to make other ships.

Not trying to make the Alien ships, but at the least the Human Ships.

Yup I haven't a clue about the covie ships

I really wanted to try the Halcyon then the Pelican was the natural extension

Most of the human ships are no energy weapons not too fast lots of LRMs point defence and naval gauss for MACs

actually BT's Mass Drivers would work best for the MAC's, since both are high damage spinal weapons. and the missile pods on the UNSC ships would probably be better modeled as sub-capital missile launchers, since they are way too massive and damaging per shot to be lightweight LRM's. the "point defense guns" have some adaption issues.. their name suggests AMS, but their main role is actually anti-fighter, and are heavy and large enough to be light AC's like AC5's. so might fit best as LBX AC's,

Were they originally yours  :-[ if so credit JA Baker so much has been added to my AU I really need to tag them when I use them

Problem with Mass Drivers is they are not great for engaging ships unlike MACs so Heavy Naval Gauss is probably the closest fit.

Not too sure about the Sub-capital missiles the books especially describe the launching of the "Archer" missiles as waves of missiles

I'd agree about LBXs for secondary armament or maybe Silver Bullets or HAGs, AMS more adds to the feeling that they're defensive

Between DragonCat, JA , Master Arminius, and like two or three others you've emptied the Aerospace section of their creators lol

Definitely LBX cannons , and maybe tons of LRMS or even MRMS?

I designed her using Star League tech: you converted it to Clan tech.

Completely forgot  :o

Didn't you do a DropShip based on a halo design?

I did the Plican as part of my Tartarus AU. Not 100% certain it's the one you used, as others have done similar conversions.

MAXC's in halo are difficult to use in fleet engagements as well. they are just the only thing powerful enough to punch through Covenant shields and armor. naval guass does not have the sheer size, power, and range the MAC's are supposed to have. Mass Drivers do.

Archer pods fire missiles the bigger than a human. the size of IRL sub launched ballistic misisles.

battletech LRM's fire missiles the size of a human arm.

Sub-caps are the closest you get size wise

the array of 5 hatches are the archer pods:

and this is them in action:

the UNSC ships fire in massed launches because covenant ships (with their shields) are so tough.. a single Archer missile can kill a UNSC frigate.

Yes, my Camelot class Heavy Battleship is inspired by the Epoch class Heavy Carrier, the Pendragon class Cruiser which is based on the Marathon class Cruiser to finish up and I've got a Phoenix class Colony Ship around somewhere to convert.

And some fighters of various types.

I use the Pelican at 1/300 scale as a planetlifter. Might also look into using it as a rapid assualt craft.
