Unmothball of Dropships?
« on: 19 October 2017, 03:29:52 »
As the subject states how do you do this? I was playing against the bot, and had a multi-year garrison contract, so I mothballed my dropships to save $$, but at the end of the contract I was not able to un-mothball them, or at least I could not figure out how. So I just GM drop them and then gave new ones. The other option that I see moving forward is just to GM delete the maintance cost as they come up, but neither of these is really what I want to do. So am I missing something simple?

No clue. I would think you would unmothball them in the same manner as normal units but... Is there anything in the rules that says you CAN mothball large craft?? For a garrison contract it might be better to try and rent them out for the duration to gain extra c-bills. Downside to this though is if the garrisoned world comes under assault and you don't have a ride (or even a mothballed ride) and you are being forced off-world... oops.

Realistically I don't know if you are supposed to be able to mothball large craft or if its possible RAW.

Quoting SO pg 175...

The time required to place larger units (WarShips, Drop-
Ships, JumpShips, Space Stations and Large Naval Vessel
Support Vehicles) in mothballs is equal to one Maintenance/
Repair Cycle per 500 tons. The same amount of time is required
to return them to operational status.

So yeah it should be possible but it is not implemented in MHQ correctly.
