Rules for Dropships
« on: 04 February 2018, 16:20:35 »
I want to pull together a scenario or three literally around drop ships.  Maybe having Mechs hold the ground as they come in?  Defend one as its engines warm up?   Get all upset as the DS leaves without them.  Having to get to a min9mum safe distance, or behind cover as a ship comes in or takes off scorching the land.  My problem is I am having trouble tracking down the necessary rules and operational notes as to how specifically they work.   Can anyone point me in the right direction as to which book or books to check out.

Total Warfare has rules for Dropships on the ground, and I think Strategic Operations has rules for stuff like startup sequences and them buttoning up for takeoff. However, takeoff is a very complex operation and is too long to really do in a tabletop game.

You're looking for StratOps, pages 71-72.  And a DropShip on Hot Standby can lift off easily enough.

Thanks all.  I just grabbed a pdf of StratOps.  It had what I was looking for.
