Daniel's Avengers

This is to record all mentions of the mercenary division named Daniel's Avengers.
This mercenary group  was formed after the demise of the STAR LEAGUE and the
depature of the SLDF.  this unit started out as a battalion in the  20th Dragoon
regiment and had a long and glorious battle history, all that changed on
February 15,2784 when General Kerensky ordered the Exodus of the remaining Star
League forces in the Inner Sphere. John Daniels then a lieutenant in the Dragoons
resigned his commission and left with almost a battalion of other former star league
officers and enlisted personal. John and his new force left for the outworlds alliance
and found a unihabited planet and called the planet victoria ,after his wife.
the Daniels Avengers, as they soon called themselves, signed on  with the alliance to
provide money and resources to survive.Over the next 300  years of fighting Pirates
and rogue mercenaries,  were able to field three regiments of mechs.(in their existance
the avengers were able to capture 4 battalions of mech's, 5 jumpships, 4 dropships,
and over 250 prisoners.)the mercenaries grew from a battalion to three regiments of Mechs
and two regiment of infantry with an attachment of two aerospace wings.When the Clans arrived the Avengers were outfitting the division just outside the Outworlds Alliance.  When the history of the Clans was published the Avengers quickly signed on with the Federated Commonwealth and was stationed near the Jade Falcon border on the Planet Dustball and came under attack within one week of arriving  from Falcon forces. The Omega Solhama Cluster was sent to test the mettle of the mercanaries due to their Star league history.  David Daniels descenant of John Daniels was commanding general of the Avengers and was greeted by a suprise batchcall on saturday 12, october  3059.  David decided to allow the Falcons to land in a predetermined area and was only allowing one company to fight the upcoming battle.  The Falcons were thrown off-balance of the use of the bidding process of the Avengers.  At 12o'clock that day, the battle was joined and the outcome was forgone in the opening salvos.  The company that fought that day was an elite force of warriorsthat had graduated from the gunslinger program that the avengers have continued .

The falcons lost two stars of mechs and one star of elementals and two dropships.  When the fighting was over and the Falcons were at a lost to understand, David challenged the commander of the solhama unit stating that if he won all isorla would be returned and he(David) would not oppose his being claimed bondsman, but if the Star Captian Mahan lost all of the Falcons presentwould be taken as isorla including the jumpships and all dropships.  Mahan accpted and soon he and David were trading blows.  After two minutes of furiousfighting one of the mechs fusion reactor was breached and blew the unlucky mech to pieces.  When the smoke cleared General David in his Atlas stood over the still standing legs of Star Captain Mahans Timber Wolf.  Soon after this defeat of an clan unit, the avengers came under heavy attack from Clan Jade Falcon when the 2nd regiment raided the world of Blair Athol.  The Epsilon Galaxy was sent to repel the 2nd regiment, as all things go with war the unexpected can happen.  On December 11, 3059 we(the 2nd reg.) landed on Blair Athol and quickly dispatched the Falcon garrison, within a week of the raid the 2nd had setup a command post and had dug in for the falcon forces that were coming.  The Falcons sent the Epsilon Galaxy Clusters 5th Battle, 10th Talon, 8th Falcon Regulers, and the 6th PGC to destroy the 2nd and retake Blair Athol, issuing a batchcall Galxy Commander Rard Hoyt demmanded what forces defended the world and where they would fight, Colonel O'Rielly replied that the 2nd was the defenders and they would fight just outside the capital city and he stated that if the 2nd won the engagement that any and all captured forces would be claimed bondsmen and all dropships, jumpships was included.  Galaxy Commander Hoyt replied that even thought they were mercenaries he would honor the them for being honorable in the batchcall.

   Within two days the Falcons were landing after being granted safcon by the 2nd.  Galaxy Commander Hoyt Sent the 6th PGC and the 8th Falcon to scout the surrounding area.  Colonel O'Reilly sent the 3rd battalion to scout the landing zone for strenght of the Falcon forces, soon the 3rd found itself in a furious firefight with the 6th and the 8th both sides called for support.  a battalion from the 2nd armor soon rushed in to aid the 3rd while no help was forthcoming for the falcons.  the 3rd battalion and the 3rd batt. pounded the 6th and 8th destroying one trinary from the 8th and capturing the 6th PGC.  Star Colonel Terrance retreated after destroying two lances of  'Mech and armor.  When the call for help came from Star Colonel Terrance, Galaxy Commander Hoyt was under attack from the 2nd regiment and had lost two stars of mechs and three stars of elementals in return he gutted the 4th battalion and hammered the 2nd battalion, regrouping Colonel O'Reilly sent the decimated 4th and 2nd battalions with a battalion of armor to split the 10th talon from the 5th battle while the 1st battalion with a battalion of armor engaged the 5th Battle.  Galaxy Commander Hoyt and Colonel O'Reilly found each other in the battle and soon were at each others throats, the defeated 8th showed up with the damaged 3rd battalion close behind and threw its weight behind the 5th to repel the attack.  The 3rd battalion of armor took the captured 6th back to their dropships and put them in the brig until the fighting was over.

   The 10th talon fought valiantly and soon Star Colonel Ellym challenged Captain Bash to a trial of Possesion stating if Bash won the 10th would surrender and join them, but if he (Ellym)won the three battalions would surrender to him.  Bash agreed and soon was engaged in single combat with Ellym (Grand Titan vs. Loki) Ellym was in trouble from the start, he lost his left arm and most of the armor on his left leg while barley scrachting Bashs armor, a lucky hit in the center torso destroyed the gyro of the Loki and it crashed to the ground, declaring himself the winner Bash ordered the 10th to fall in and surrender.  Galaxy Commander Hoyt and Star Colonel Terrance soon came to the conclusion that if they stayed they would lose, but if they retreated there would be a loss of honor for the clan so they decided to ask for hegira,  Colonel O'Reilly called for a stand down of his warriors and granted the request on one condition that there would be no reprisal raids or attacks to retake the world, while in space the two Aegis class warships Golden Talon and Lord Death waited for their warriors to return from the battle,  were soon  surprised to see an ancient Cruiser emerge from hyperspace and begin to launch fighters, assault dropships, the captain of the Aegis Golden Talon sent a message to the unkown vessel and demanded to know what its intentions were, the commander of the vessel responded with this message "i am Admiral Jennifer Daniels and this vessel is the Winchester Class Vessel Tropical Storm as for our intentions we will engage your vessels in combat to either capture or destroy".

   The captain of the Golden Talon sounded general alarm and prepared for battle, know that the two Aegis outclassed the aging Cruiser, but not the fighters and assault dropships, he knew that the key was to destroy the Cruiser.   Two hours later the battle was joined an assault droship with heavy fighter support attacked the talon, doing light damage to the port side and knocking out two autocannons, two more assault  dropships attacked the Lord Death and heavily damaged the bridge area and starboard foward, but the Aegis cruiser destroyed one of the dropships as two smaller dropships attached themselves to its hull, seeing that the Lord Death was being boarded the captain of the Talon ordered flank speed and all weapons to fire at will, the two remaing dropships and the two sqaudrons of fighters engaged the Talon on her attack run and were chewed up, one dropship damaged, the other gutted and 3 lances were left of 2 squadrons of fighters.  but the Talon was in bad shape also, the two dropships were able to severly damage the ship while the fighter exploited the gaping holes in the hull to great effect.  the port side was ravaged by heavy broadsides from the dropships and fighters, the belly of the great ship was breeched in 3 places, and only half the weapons were functional.  After 3 hours of fighting the Lord Death was boarded and the Golden Talon was nearly crippled, Galaxy Commander Hoyt sent a message informing the captain of the Talon to prepare to leave the system, they had lost the fight and were burning for the warships.  After Hoyt sent his message Jennifer Daniel sent a message stating that they were free to leave.

General Daniels then took the 1st reg. to the FRR for its contract and was soon raiding the wolf occupation zone with mixed results.  Upon hearing of what happened to the falcon galaxy Khan Ward was determined to destroy us before we dishonored his clan as we did the falcons, the Iota Galaxy was sent to chase us down and destroy the 1st reg. and to leave no survivor alive.  Khan Ward hoped to destroy us and destroy a problematic galaxy at the same time.  Galaxy Commander Sradac was pleased to have been picked for this mission and for the chance to prove his troops worth to the clan.  The 1st reg. raided the world of Diosd and was there for a month waiting for Clan Wolf to attack, when they did it seemed that it would be a cakewalk.  Galaxy Commander Sradac launched his units dropships and began a high burn combat insertation and stated that no mercenary would leave the planet alive.  two days later the 1st wing launched and attacked the incoming dropships, clan fighters launched from the jumpships engaged the rising mercenary fighters the fighting was furious and decimated both sides, three squadrons engaged the Clan fighters while a fourth squadron hung back to exploit an opening to in the fighter screen to attack the dropships, reinforcements came in the form of two union class dropships to help engage the dropships heading for the planet.  The fourth squadron with aid from one of the unions tore into the Wolf dropship formation and was quickly chewed up and the union left derelict with heavy damage while the fighters continued the fight all the way into the atmosphere destroying 15 mercenary fighters and twenty onmi-fighters.  Iota's dropships landed and began unloading its enraged mechs and warriors to destroy the freebirth scum.  David waited for the dropships to land and start unloading procedures before launching a full scale attack while the remaining fighters dueled in the sky and the 4th squadron now giving air cover david felt that the 1st might survive Clan Wolf.

Galaxy Commander Sradac led the command trinary and set up a defensive ring with the 17th regulars almost unloaded he felt that sufficant forces were present to deter an attack, he was wrong , a lance of assault fighter screamed through the air and aimed for the parked dropships lining up on two union-c's the 4 aircraft unleashed the deadly payload and destroyed on dropship and damaged another, destroying a binary of mechs and vehicles in the process.  two more lances of fighters tore into the dropships with less effectivness.  the 20th regulars and the 6th regulars quickly unloaded from their dropships to avoid the same fate, David attacked at this time sending the 4th battalion against the 17th, the 2nd and 3rd battalion against the 20th and 6th with support from the 1st batt. armor and the command lance against the command trinary.  Major Roy Mechee slammed into the 17th like a hurricane forcing the green unit to commit costly mistakes surrounded and cut off from any support star colonel Onyx was killed and a star  captain surrendered the cluster.  the 20th and 6th fought side by side stoping cold the rushing battalions, the 20th engaged the 2nd battalion intent on its destruction the wolf warriors gave no quarter destroying 2 companies of mechs in minutes seeing this the 1st rushed in to save the 2nd, Sarah Dorwer withdrew from the 20th and retreated to the dropships.  Major John Carpenter sought and found Star Colonel Tahme Wirth and challenged him to single combat.

   The 3rd was having a rough time with the 6th, Star Colonel Rhyssa was fighting for her life against a strong enemy having lost almost a trinary while killing a company and two lances, the pressure was increased by an air strike followed by and frontal assualt that was pushing the limits of her warriors, then to her surprise an attack from the rear, not seeing the remaining lance break off and cirlce to the rear she assumed that reinforcement had arrived seeing another star of mechs fall she started to call for retreat when her mech was hit in the gyro unable to keep the giant warmachine upright she ejected and was captured.  The remaing 6th warriors disheartend at the loss of their leader powered down their weapons and surrendered.  The 20th was doing much better after decimating the 2nd batt. and engaging the 1st batt. Star Colonel Wirth was having fun.  with the loss of an trinary and two stars vs the destruction of two companies Star Colonel Wirth was challenged to single combat by the Commander of the 1st batt. a feral grin graced his features as he accepted and blew the unlucky spheroid to hell.   The remaining company fled to the dropship with the command lance.   

   The final tally of the Wolf campaign 2 battalion destroyed 2 trinarys and 2 binaries captured and the 1st airwing decimated.  Soon after General Daniels traveled to Luthien to ask for captured clansmen from smoke jaguar and nova cat.  *Section Deleted*.  Soon the former clansmen were given a world in the daniels system one jump from the Outworlds Alliance
to build a new clan dedicated to preserving the innershpere from the crusader clans.

   When the Star League reformed and begin planning for the destruction of the Smoke Jaguars, General Daniels travelled to the Lyran Alliance with Theodore Kurita to present himself and offer the rebuilding of the 20th Dragoons to fight for the Star League once again.  on the way to the conferanceDavid began talking to his bondsman, Star Colonel Rhyssa of the house of Ward, he offered her a chance to pick up where her ancestor left off, leading the 20th Dragoons, all she had to do was accept the offer.   Star Colonel Rhyssa was stunned to say the least, for she never dreamed this would be possible to have happened to anyone, David told her to take time to decide, then he left her quarters and went to the communications room and sent a message to Victoria, the planet of the Avengers, it said "the time hoped for has come, and a new day is risen in these troubled times.  The Star League is reborn, of fire and of blood it comes to destroy a menace of epic porportions, THE SMOKE JAGUARS, this clan has been targeted for destruction.  My sister Deborah begin rebuilding a regiment of mechs that will be called the 20th Dragoons for i go to return them home."  after the great houses joined together, as they can, general david approached Victor Steiner-Davion and asked to speak quietly with him away from others, when they were alone david confided with Victor about the Avengers and their heritage, astonished victor asked what this had to do with the Star League, david told him that as one month from now there will be a unit ready to take the field in the name of the Star League, a name not heard since the depature of the SLDF, the 20th Dragoons are returned to their rightful owners.  thinking quickly victor tallied the units now available for the assault on the jaguars, can they be here sooner? he asked yes david said and with more if need be. if i may sir he said i offer my 3rd and 4th regiments with support to the fight ahead and if need be i can offer some warship support.  Victor stared quietly on this man who offered more than any could hope for, how can your unit offer what the great houses are only now begining to regain after all these years. aske the archon-prince, well during the months after the SLDF's depature lieutenant daniels and several former members of the SLDF went on a bit of a spree, collecting and storing what jerome blake had missed and hauling derelict vessels to a place only we would know of.  when this was done the locations were recorded and stored in the computer that we had and still do,  since that day we have recovered most of the lost vessels and partialy restored them to fighting condition.   over joyed at this news victor concieved a plan most bold in its thinking.  taking leave of david victor sought out theodore and soon both were in deep planning.  two days later david was called for by theodore and informed that the avengers would not participate in Operation Bulldog because they would be fighting elsewhere, the avengers would attack deep periphery holdings of the jaguars and claim them for the Star League.

   The Avenger's force soon left for their homeworld and begain to prepare for the upcoming
war that was to be waged against an formidable foe.  Khan Kerensky allowed a cluster to start war games to commence with the 3rd and 4th regiments to prepare them for uncondintional war with the
jaguars.  the results were an astounding defeat of the Avengers by one cluster.  General Daniel suggested that a training regime be setup during the long flight to the Jaguar Periphery holdings and Khan Kerensky agreed to send two elite warriors to train the Avengers.  Major Johnson asked if the General was going to join the attack force and the general said no, but he was sending the warships
Tropical Weather(Monsoon Battleship) and the Admiral Cartwright(Lola I Destroyer) as escorts to protect and fight if nessecary.  Admiral John Paul was to be senior commander during the voyage while Major Johnson was to second in command.  On 1st of June 3059 the Avengers loaded up on their dropships and boosted from the planet, General Daniel asked Khan Kerensky if they stood a chance against the Jaguars, Khan Kerensky looked into the troubled face of the General and said " if the fates are willing".

   Major Johnson looked up from the screen with tears in her eyes as she looked to Captain Drask and said " The Storms gone."  "Reports comming in from the remaining fighters sir, said the deck officer, one enemy dropship retreating with 10 enemy fighters, one enemy dropship destroyed, one enemy dropship damaged with 13 fighters covering, looks like they intend to attack again".  "all guns target the dropship" replied Captain Drask.  "What is our damage?" asked Major Johnson, "three dropship down, one damaged, one crippeled", replied the deck officer.  5 minutes to atmosphere entry called out the co-pilot, as the co-pilot called out the dropship shook and tilted and then started spiining out of control.   Lt. James on the dropship Wild Ride watched in horror as the Avenger Command spun into the planets atmosphere plummeting out of site.

   The Avengers attack on Transfer Facility 4 was a disaster and a triumph for us.  We lost almost three regiments of personel and equipment and the destruction of 1/3 of our dropships along with the loss of a ship of the line.  the triumph came when we destroyed the jaguars on planet and claimed the world for the Star League.  of the Jaguars we were able to capture a total of 30 warriors, 10 pilots, 20 elementals and two dropships. also taken were 45 techs.  when the battered fleet returned home the Avengers immediatly set about to rebuild the decimated units.

   In October 3059 the Daniels Avengers 1st Division left Victoria to take up guard duty on the border of the St. Ives and Capellan Confederation.  Duchess Candace personally negotiated the contract with General Daniel on Outreach.  After the negotiations General Daniel went to the Dragoon hiring office and asked to if it would be possible to have a meeting with Colonel Wolf.
the secretary replied by saying "that that might take awhile as the Colonel  is a busy man" just as the door beside  her desk opened and out walke General Maeve Wolf walked out and said "We would like to meet you General, in here if you please. sorry sandy" as David walked through the door sitting behind a ancient maghoney desk was the legendary Colonel Jaimi Wolf.   "Please have a seat General, we have been hearing quit alot about your unit from some very high sources, so what can we do for you?"  "Well sir if i may ask, back in 3005 there was a large group of jumpships that passed through our sector and i was wondering if that might have been you. second i would like to hire two of your units to assist us in rebuilding our decimited forces and guard our homeworld form pirates and other unpleasant things out there."  The Colonel chuckled and replied " And why would you think this?  as for the hiring of our units what ones did you wish to contract?"  " Well one of the jumships ws scanned and its identity was transmitted before the sattelite was destroyed, as for the units i wish to hire you Beta regiment, Epsilon regiment along with the Zeta battalion, also we need to sell one or two of our warships to fund our rebuilding efforts.  as for salvage rights and other points of a contract, we are offering 50% salvage with full support of out factories.  and of the jumpship that was scanned the excact readings were deteced when we jumped in-system two weeks ago to meet with Candace Liao.  also we would like to invite Blackwell industries to send over some engineers to inspect one of our 'Mech plants and give an estiment of what it would cost to upgrade the plant."
the Colonel steepled his fingers and leaned back in his chair looking over to Maeve for her thoughts
"What about transportation reimbursment and fuel cost and minor maintenance for the jumpships and dropships? asked Maeve "Full reimbursment and full access to our orbital facilities and if you want you may inspect the facilities yourselfs and suggest any improvements that would help us serve you, and the length of the contract is to be 10 yrs though you would of course want to rotate your units to alleviate any loss of skills during the contract time.  before you inquire about the lengthy time i will explain, it will take three years to rebuild each regiment to full strength, five years for each infantry regiment and aerospace wing.  armor will take two years, so that means of the three mech regiments it would take 9 years to rebuild them to pre-Bulldog strength i am not counting the infantry and armor as they would extend the time to almost 25 yrs to bring all of our forces to strength.  during the rebuilding i was going to attach companies and lances to recieve training from your men and have them reach veteran status a little quicker than normal,  though i would only do this after speaking to each regiment commander and battalion commander.  Our university is overloaded and cannot handle the burden of training the amount needed to rebuild our forces to adequatly protect our homes and factories and have us leave some forces to seek employment to fund the economy.  That is why i am offering a Lola I and a Naga class destroyer for sale to you to boost our ecenomy and offer this contract, we are not broke but the rebuilding effort is draining most of our resources.
or we could offer them in exchange for the services of the requested Dragoon units, would this not be a fair exchange?

Wolf leaned foward and replied "I gather that we would be working directly under the control of your military leadership?"  "No, you will be working under your own rules and regulations with little to no interferance from the Avenger Command, as i am here talking to you as the President of the Victoria Planetary Council, and as well as a military commander. your units can stay on our militay base and use its facilities or you can bring your own pre-fab facilities that will be up to you to decide also i offer the full use of our planetary sytems for stopping off points for any Dragoon unit heading into the periphery, we have a class C hyperpulse generator that we operate ourselves that would be accesible to all Dragoon personal, we do not charge for its use.  I must point out that the ammunition supply of the warships is inadequate as we do not have the munition plants to replace expended ammunitons.  also with our battle with the Smoke Jaguars it was found that the current armor on all of our vessels need replaced so i decided when i was elected president to seek out the best of the best and hire them to garrison our worlds until we would be able to defend ourselves on our own again, and offer in exchange or sale of two of the warships that we have.  In anticipation of meeting you the warships i speak of travelled here with me and are waiting for my signal to jump to Outreach and allow an inspection if desired." "Well you seem to have indeed a generous offer on the table for us, you may contact your ships and yes we will want to take a look at them.  I would like to think that we could be of help to each other in the future.  Please come back tommorrow and my secretary will give you a ticket, take that ticket to the indicated dropship on the stub, board that dropship and it will take you meet me in a more hospitable enviroment to futher discuss this matter. Goodday David and i will see you soon."  "Thank you Colonel, General i will see you then."

   After David Daniels leaves the room "Maeve have Wolfnet gather all intelligence on the Daniels Avengers and send a small team to scout out the Victoria system, our little war is heating up with WoB and we are going to need allies and these Avengers may be useful to us."

   As the Dropship boosted David was in his assigned cabin when a call came from the captain "Sir General i have a message to give to you from the Colonel: he says welcome to Remus and enjoy your stay."

   Colonel Wolf waited on the tarmak waiting for the passengers to unload when David exited the dropship and approached him.  Looking out the window his assigned room to lined up 'Mechs as the drilled and mechwarrior excersice in the yard David wondered what was this all for, to impress him? to itimidate him? what was Colonel Wolf up to? what did Colonel Wolf what from him? a knock at the door pushed all of these concerns away, opening the door a young private was standing at attention "General Daniel i am here to escort you to the Colonel."  following the private through the corridors of the Dragoon Compound to two double doors that easily opened at a signal touch, inside were Colonel Wolf and several people who he did not know but several wore Dragoon uniforms, two gentlemen wearing suits who David assumed that were Blackwell representives.  Entering the room the doors closed quietly behind him "Please have a seat" said Colonel Wolf "Please allow me to introduce Fleet Colonel Issola Chandra,   Fleet Captain Talia Dumont, Colonel Anton Rand commander of Beta, Colonel Shelly Brubaker commander of Delta, Colonel J. Elliot Jamison command of Zeta, and Blackwell representives John Taniel and Kelly Veshia." "I am suprised to say the least and am honored to meet all of you." "I've invited the Blackwell reps to join us so you can inquire for their assistance with your refits of your factories, as for the commanders of the requested regiments i asked them to meet you and Issola wished to meet the person who presented the warships." "Were the ships acceptable Fleet Colonel?" "to say i was suprised at the condition of the ships would be inadequate description, they were well kept, except for the age they look like they just came out of the dockyards." "I am pleased of your approval, so i presume that there is an agreement to the contract?" "Yes, i believe that the terms that you have explained for the contract were agreed upon with one exception" explained Colonel Wolf "Instead of Epsilon Regiment would you accept Delta in its place?"  "that would be fine Colonel, i will not argue about what regiments take the contract." "As there is buisness to discuss with the Blackwell officers here my men and i will leave you to your discussions and after your done with that would you like to look over the regiments that will leave for Victoria?" asked Colonel Wolf. "Yes that would be fine." repliad General David.

One Month Later
   General Daniels floated down the empty corridor to the grav-deck looking foward to a relaxing workout, when a tech came around the corner and stopped him saying "the captain would like to see you on the bridge sir."  When David entered the bridge the captain was looking at a print out of some kind "What is the matter Captian Jones?" "a hyperpulse communicae from home sir" replied the jumpship captain.  "What is wrong?" asked the General, "Well for one we are getting some very weird comuniques from home indicating trouble back home." "What kind of trouble?"
"An unkown force attack Victoria and heavily damaged two of our warships and destroyed one battalion of the training regiment. we were able to destroy two of the attacking battalions and forced the remaining battalions off planet and destroyed their dropship with our warships and assault dropships.  your sister was killed also leading the training regiment."

July 3062

"Duchess Liao i ask once again to please consider an assault on Sian to finish this war. As a matter of fact one unit in paticular that i asked to help is the Rainbow Knights. with their forces and mine we could take Sian and depose your nephew. also duchess i have a secret weopan that can assure a victory." said General Daniel, "Please submit a detailed plan so that i may review it and decide General" repliad Candace Liao.

"Sir we have not heard from the Knights, we must presume that they have rejected the offer. " said Admiral John "Fine prepare the Blackhearts and launch operation Headhunter." repliad General Daniels. Captain Chuang of the Elias Jhuang silently cursed as the strange fighters pounded his aerofighters and the three warships hounded his wounded vessel, after five hours of combat and the constant strain of combat his crew was exhausted and weary. This last hour was the worst as aerofighters damaged the engines and destroyed the aft batteries. And the worst part was that enemy dropships were descending planetside and were unopossed by local aerofighters as they were destroyed. A small satisfaction was the destruction of 10 fighters from these so-called Avengers, and several damaged from the bandit Knights.

Captain Daybrough of the Battleship Tropical Weather watched as the dropships burned through the atmosphere of Sian heading for the Forbiden City and Sun-Tzu. On a secondary screen the heavy cruise Elias Juang hung lifeless
in space. "So far so good" thought the captain.

"Remy, how are your pilots holding out?" General Harrington asked his old friend.
"They are performing admirably as usual Ronny. They are tired and of course upset at the casualties, but considering they are on their third and fourth sorties, they are in remarkably high spirits. I had not realized how this little campaign against the 'Defective One' would inspire the unit. I have not seen them fly like this since Toffen."
"Well, we'll need you even more when we drop. How are the wounded?"
"Fortunately, of the eight only one is seriously wounded. I've had to order five to stay in their beds. I'll be writing letters to the families of Rieger and Seville after this is all over. I hope to God I don't have to write anymore," at which point Colonel Augernon makes the sign of the cross.

"Alright commanders, listen up. Before we get down to any of the operational specifics, pass this along to your troops." All of the men and women in the room had seen this look on Brigadier General Martin's face before. They would listen, indeed feel every single syllable in their souls or he would give them "the glare" that could melt the heart of the bravest, most accomplished battlemech commander into bubbling goo. Duchess we have secured a 4 mile perimiter around the palace and have succesfully engaged and routed the remaining Death Commandos. Of the battalion on planet only two companies remained in fighting condition along with two lances of House Imarra troops. This is due to a special ops battalion inserted about one month ago to disrupt and destroy supplies and troops. The Rainbow Knights are on the palace grounds and are engaged in a fierce fight with the Maskirova agents guarding Sun-Tzu. There are about 25 agents with two lances of mech support, the fight is difficult as the Knights are fighting not to destroy the buildings but the Mask agents are making that difficult task. We were able to push the remaining Commandos away from the Palace before they could reinforce the defenders. General Harrison tells me that they are sending infantry through the secret tunnel that you supplied directions to and hope to have Sun-Tzu captured by tomorrow at the latest. You should be able to land within one days time of the capture.

the outskirt of the city was litup for a brief moment as a battlemech went nova.

Lieutenant James Daniels watched in horror as his fathers mech was destroyed and the 3rd MAC with the 1st Sian Home Regiment stormed the line held by the Avengers, Calling for a rally around him, James ordered the infantry and and mechs to charge the enemy lines and for a battalion of tanks to support them charge. Fortunatley these tanks were home designed tanks named Abrahm Mk. IV, armed with guass rifles to stop mechs. The Avengers clash with the 3rd MAC and 1st Sian was brutal and short, pushing back the capellan troops with superhuman feats of skill and slaughter.
Looking around at the battlefield and the remains of the Avengers that fought, only two badly mauled battalions remained of the infantry regiment, two companies remained of the battalion of mech's, and a completly untouched battalion of tanks.

Leaving the battle line in the hands of Lt. General Persh, General James searched for General Harrington and the Knights headquarters.

Sir this way, said the huge elemental. Approaching an office room within the palace James sees General Harrington studying maps given to the Knights by Duchess Liao, ahh you are not General Daniels. Sir i am General Daniels adn as for why i am here it is to inform you that the 3rd MAC and the 1 Sian Home Guard have just attacked the Avengers adn have killed the Former General Daniels in an arrow IV attack adn since he was my father i am now in command. The 3rd and 1st are damaged but not hurt we on the other hand were handed our butts, we suffered 75% casualties in our infantry 15% in our mechs. we may need some of your troops to help repel another attack or they might break through and come straight here hell bent on revenge or rescue. so what do you think?

Lieu . . . I beg your pardon . . . General Daniels, my deepest sorrow in the loss of your father, he was a man of great intrepidity and vision. I regret that there was not more we could have done to help. We were tied up with a somewhat more imposing force of Maskirova combatants than intel led us to believe. Any help would be helpfull in these new developments. My father wished to present you with a gift after the fighting but with high infantry casualties i've ordered the crews of several tanks to pull infantry duty, so im pulling 5 of our Abrahm tanks back to your lines and giving them to your unit.

about certain derelict warships that you could possible use, as well as the coordinates to the Victoria system where if you want your unit can visit and come for R&R and possible buy some star league era mechs that we produce. also maybe i can talk to Khan Kerensky about trading some omnis to your unit as well as possible cross training with them(Clan Phoenix). but back to our situation, these reinforcements will help but lets hold them back and lure the enemy troops into a trap. they know that my line is weak and would not hold against a conctrated attack, so lets let them think that i was unsuccesfull in calling for aid adn position you ground units two klicks back from the battle line and let the MAC charge us and push us back one klick then have your units crash their line. these are your people and your input would be helpful in using them General.

Well our lights may have been waylaid, but the one trick we have up our sleeves is our LAM company. So far we've held them in battlemech configuration only. Normally we would have used them in air-mech mode by now, but it seemed more useful to have them prepared for city fighting. However, nothing is quite so flexible for visual recon as an air-mech. It's tougher than a VTOL and more moble than a 'mech. They make great rooftop spotters. Some of them have Beagles also, so you'll know almost as soon as I will when they've ferreted them out. The buggers don't have great firepower as you probably know, but they get to shoot from behind quite regularly with their extended jumps. I tell you I can't get enough of them myself. They're just so bloody difficult to obtain. Well . . .Tally-ho General . . . give it a good show and we'll be on cue, I can assure you. Oh, and if these tanks are what they appear to be, we'll be putting in an order for several quite soon.

As 2nd Lt. Sendrasky sent his Fulcrum into a spinning, careening slide, directly at the back of the legs of an enemy THR-1L Thunder, he wondered if his crew would be lucky enough to survive, should they topple the 70 ton adversary. He wondered if he would see the hind end of the mech crash through the roof of his hovertank, or if it would simply cave the cockpit in on him and the rest of the crew. There would be a moment of perverse amusement if he actually saw the "ass" of the enemy machine falling on him, right before he died of course. Oh, well better to cut the monster down to a knee than to give it another good shot at the limping Cestus of Mechwarrior Quinet with its AC/20. It might eliminate the chance of him getting that date with her, but at least maybe she'd think more highly of him - posthumusly. Oddly enough though, The intended target of the clumsy ramming attack, shatters in a shower of sparks, electrical discharge and white hot molten metal as it reacts to the energy of a particle cannon blast from Mechwarrior Barnes' Falconer. Although it is not a completely clean passage under the now falling 'mech, it is not terminal in any sense either. The hovertanks' skirt is damaged, but the vehicle skids clear of the danger zone caused by the slow, drunken fall of the Thunder and fires its turret mounted medium laser at the Thunder, just missing its left shoulder. Unwilling to give it a second chance, Sendrasky's crew alpha stirikes the downed battlemech as soon as the medium laser cycles through. Unfortunately, because of the wait, the Thunder does manage to try to right itself. Fortunately, in the process, it exposes a weakened right flank, which Sandrasky and Banes exploit. In a matter of four seconds, enough energy is pumped through the breach to mold the opponent's gyro into so much modern art "Nice shooting Banes." is the voice which Sandrasky hears over the combat channel. It is the voice of Sarah-Anne Quinet. "Tankers never get the girl" thinks Sandrasky to himself.

"Now!" commanded the voice of Lt. Col. Losira "Isis" Be-Ihnaten. Everyone in this odd little company was moving not just before the end of the word, but before the end of the first consonant sound. They were an odd bunch, these LAM pilots. At least that's what they let everyone think. They knew that pretty much everyone thought the not 'mech/not aero/not VTOL pilots were a bunch of flakes. They then acted accordingly and found that it fostered a very special kind of esprit-de-corps which bordered on the telepathic at times. This time, as they had been waiting in airmech mode for just such a command, they were so keenly tuned to their commanding officer's voice, that they almost heard her thoughts instead. The great joy of this maneuver is that it would not only surprise the enemy, but their own people and the allied Avengers also. They had detected the enemy three kilometers out from the engagement zone. They all ran back in battlemech mode, reported the enemy disposition and hid in airmech mode until the battle was engaged. They waited even longer for the original trap to be sprung. It was a good plan, but these were crack Liao mechwarriors and they weren't just caving because they were outflanked. Instead they formed a hedgehog-like, densely packed, outward-facing formation which was proving extremely difficult to crack. It was at this point that the order was given, and now, they are responding to it. At the end of the first jump, the LAM's land point blank in front of the outer layer and fire directly at the backs of 'mechs on the side opposite them. After taking return fire, the LAM's jump away from the MAC force and allow the heavies of Beta 2 and Daniel's Avengers pound away. The next jump lands 3 LAMs inside the formation where fallen enemies once stood. Again, back attacks ensue and the unit jumps out again. As unnerved single 'mechs attempt to flee, Avengers units are able to corral them as they swing out to the flanks. The Yellow Jacket Gunships of the VTOL wing join in the fray, shooting as the LAMS jump out. The MAC begins to unravel. Mobility kills.

Major Chen open the general com channel and clicked his tongue three times and throttled his mech to full speed. He thinks to himself "i hope this works." as the mechs of the 3rd battalion burst through the woods to the rear of the battle seeing the bunched MAC regiment and Sian home regiment trying to fight off LAM's, Mechs and fighters. The 3rd battalion with 2nd battalion armor rushed forward to smash the rear of the enemy mechs. the mech battalion of the Sian home guard seeing a rear attack turns to face the new enemy only to pounded by yellow jacket's accuret fire and long range missle fire from the rushing avengers. Sang-Wei Kuan of the 1st Sian Home Guard watched as close to a company is taken out of the fight in just a few seconds opens his com channel to open broadcast an declares that the Home guard will surrender adn orders all home guard units to stand down. Sang-Wei Kuan silently curses Sun-Tzu for allowing this war to come here. Sang-Shao Otto listened stunned that the Home Guard capitualeted so quickly, anger slowly crep up his gut and he opened the com to open broadcast and said "3rd MAC will never surrender and will destroy all who would abandon their lord and ruler, all units destroy the enemy!!!!"

All Delta Alpha units execute a fighting withdrawal to grid coordinates golf-one-five, repeat all Delta Alpha units, fighting withdrawal to golf-one-five." Switching comm channels, Major Nadia Mariescu more calmly declares, "We will be ready for your run, Crow. Call off you distances."
"Wilco Gypsy. Beginning attack run at 25 kilometers to target area, ETA 2 minutes . . . 15 seconds"
"Copy Crow. Your heading is 323 on grid golf-one-four. You'll have a visual at 20 seconds. It'll be close."
"It always is Major . . . It always is."
Nadia didn't have time to smile at Piotor's gallows humor, but she understood it since their ancestors once lived under the same oppressive system in different nations on old Earth. It was something that had been passed down to each of them like family heirlooms. However, now was not the time to immerse the rest of the group in Eastern European cultural awareness. Nadia attempted to use as efficient and neutral a tone and inflection as possible when engaging in combat broadcasts. It was particularly important that she do so when communicating with the Avengers, so that there was no hint that the Rainbow Knights' leadership would meltdown in the heat of battle. It's difficult enough to always trust that your own commanders always know what they're doing. Even though she was not in command of the Avengers in any way, shape or form, she knew that they would listen if she brought them support, but only if she kept her own nerves from making themselves known vocally.
Nadia withdrew slightly from the front lines of the battle, counting down the seconds before the second strafing attack commenced. Remy's heavy squadron had already pounded the remaining Maskirova units and some few other house assets. Now it was Yevshenko's turn. But, would the Avengers, fighting as fiercely as any unit she'd seen, be able or willing to disengage? As though in telepathic disdain for her unspoken doubt, the Avengers backed out of the melee almost as a unit, swinging back to the center from their flanking attacks like two great doors and backwalking like a huge wall of destruction, firing all the way. Nadia worried for a moment that her own people might get devoured by the firestorm the Avengers unleashed, but again, events conspired to quietly make her feel foolish for her lack of faith. Her chronograph buzzed at her preset one hundred seconds. She glanced at her display long enough to see that her battalion, minus a few prone 'mechs, had formed into the rough circle required for her next command to achieve maximum effect. Fifteen seconds later, at the sound of what she experiences as a loud, disembodied echo of her own voice; twenty-nine sets of jump jets ignite, sending the Beta 2 battalion into the air in streaming arcs of mercury vapor in the pattern known as Sunflower Noon. This, in essence is a mass leap from the center of an area known to be the target of an area attack. It keeps the unit from all being the victims of a near miss, at the risk of not having the whole unit jump the right direction and also having them slightly disjointed at the conclusion of the maneuver. From the air, Piotor and his pilots are privy to the show that such a maneuver provides and are not only spurred on, but also recieve their final targetting instructions by the display. Coming in somewhat shallow, the Rievers, Transgressors and Slayers of Second Wing's Able Squadron punish the slow-to-react MAC battlemechs, downing six of the already damaged machines losing one Transgressor and sufferng a seriously damaged Slayer in the process.
"There you go Gypsy, I believe you land sharks can continue with your feeding frenzy now. This is Crow departing. Good luck to you and the Avengers."
"Thank you Crow, extend that to your pilots. We will gladly take it from here."
Nadia looked down and for the third time felt like she was being run at slower speed than the rest of the film she felt she was on. The Avengers had already begun to return to the fray and they were definitely "smelling blood in the water."
"Romeo Kilo units, support Delta Alpha. Hit the enemy where resistance is greatest. Perform well and our work her will soon be done."

General Daniels locked his legs and open the command channel on his com "Command lance form on me, this point no one shall pass." Bringing his TIC up he locks his twin LBX-20's to fire together and puts his ER Large and 4 ER Medium lasers on the 2nd TIC. "Well here we are you capellan fanatics come and get us" he thinks to himself

Major Jons orders his tank battalion to halt 600ft from the enemy 'Mech regiment, " give me battalion frequency" he tells the radio operator, " alright on my mark we fire into the capellans, 1, 2, 3 Mark!!!!" as soon as he spoke 36 super sonic shells fly towards the hapless enemy. watching capellan light mechs fall like puppets with their strings cut adn heavy mechs knocked down was inspiring sight to the tankers. just then a YU HUANG stepped foward holes in his torso and left leg where his 'Mech was savaged from the Avengers lifted his left arm and fired its ERPPC, man made lightning played over the tank shorting out its electronics for several minutes, "FIRE THE SRMS AND LASTER NOW!!!! " yelled the major and the gunner pressed the firing stud of lasers and srms. explosions ripped across the torso and head of the assault mech felling it in one strike. man made lightning played over the tank shorting out its electronics for several minutes, "fire the srms and lasers now!!!! " yelled the major and the gunner pressed the firing stud of lasers and srms. explosions ripped across the torso and head of the assault mech felling it in one strike. Sang-Wei Zang was stunned to see otto's mech fall, looking around her only two companies of mechs were to be considered combat able out of the three battalions that landed. there were few remaining command mechs left as most were cut down during the fight. all told almost one and a half battalions still stood defiant of the horrendous damage done to them. opening her com channel she broadcast a message to the Knights and Avengers "this is Sang-Wei Zang of 3rd MacCarrons Armored Calvary 3rd Battalion Command Lance, i am the only command personal left standing and possible alive, the 3rd MAC will surrender to the commanding officer under the Ares Convintion rules of combat is this acceptable?" several minutes pass the Major Nadia Mariescu replies "shutdown your weopons and engines then exit your mechs and no funny buisness Sang-Wei we will accept your surrender and inter you and your surviving men in a POW camp"

Salvage crews scrambled frantically to open hatches of downed mechs to free the trapped pilots while infantry watched for signs of foul play. Major Nadia Mariescu watched as repair crews worked overtime to quickly bring mechs back online to return to their spots on the rosters. As she looked around she noticed that the General of the Avengers had not looked for her or been seen since his lances foolhardy stand at the center of the attack then she noticed techs running as if there were a fire nearby, then she saw the Generals mech face down scarred horrible one leg gone at the knee, left torso blowed out but the cockpit was intact no ejection.

Lt. General Persh was giving a detailed report to General Harrington when the doctor entered the room. "What news do you have doctor to deliver in person?" asked General Harrington "I have a detailed report to give you on General Daniels sir." replied the doctor "after preliminary examination adn after his surgery to remove his left arm and leg, the General is in a coma. His brain scans are erratic due to the nuerohelmet feedback surge, so we cannot determine is he is brain dead or not. If by this time tomorrow he has not improved somewhat then i will be forced declare him brain dead." "do what you have to do to save him doctor." said the General. Lt. General Persh said " i can finish the report later if its all the same sir." "very well the Lt. General i will see you in about 4 hours?" "that is acceptable sir, good day sir."

I have set the Tropical Weather with the Baron Von Rictor and the Admiral Cartwright on an intercept course I have also alerted Fleet Captain Kolvoord as to the situation." "Damn this is not good Admiral try to contain them if you can, deny them any acess to sian General Harrigton out." "It looks like i need the full report on the Avengers now Lt. General." said the General. "In lieu of what is happening sir, I have a vid message for you sir." replied Lt. General Persh. Handing the vid player to the General, Persh quietly left the room. The survivors of the 3rd MAC only two full companies were captured, the rest were killed in action. The 1st Sian had one company of 'Mech that were salvagable, with 18 survivors of the mech battalion, only 13 infantry were captured from the battalion of infantry. "Ok play the message." said the Admiral "This is Fleet Captain Talia Dumont of the Wolfs Dragoons, i have a force of three regiments and two warships, we came in repsonse to a call for aid from the 1st PHG that was at outreach. The force consits of the 1st PHG, 1st Kearny Highlanders and Epsilon Regiment Wolfs Dragoons. The warships are the Ikazuchi class Cruiser Odysseus, and the Lola I class Nightmare. we will engage the capellans from the rear in order to stall them adn tell the Duchess the Highlanders are here to help restore honor lost during the 4th war. Capt. Daniel Chaney of the Odysseus picked himself off the deck and called for a damage report. "Sir we have moderate damage to the port broadside and port aft, two Laser emplacements are destroyed." replied the damage control officer. "Fire at will all port batteries!". A withering reply of destruction erupted from the Odysseus and impacted the hapless Impavido. The Starboard was pounded, held then buckled under the relentless pressure, exploding outward taking bulkheads, people weapons and precious oxygen.

Fleet Captain Dumont watched stunned as the Impavido blew up and destroyed three dropships and 23 aerofighters. After sending a flash message to Odysseus she turned her attetion to the remaining Impavido and the approaching Avengers fleet to stop the Red Lancers dropships from landing on Sian. Captain Rodgers looked to Fleet Captain Dumont and said "Given the age of this vessel we might last 4 minutes tops at best 4 seconds worst. I suggest an that we rake the top or bottom of the oppossing vessel on an approach that her captain would think would be a typical broadside manuver." "Excellant idea proceed with your plan." replied Dumont. "Helm hard starboard and start Alpha-Gamma-Fox manuver." the ancient destroyers drives flared white hot and the ship began her approach to disaster.

Smoke filled the bridge of the Nightmare and warning lights blared dark red. "Fleet Captain Dumont we must abandon the Nightmare, we have multiple hull breaches, fires are out of control near the engines, no main engine drives and we are losing integrity, if we abandon we can come back and salvage her. Please i beg you maam consider this advice for we have little time." "Alright, comm give me shipwide channel. This is Fleet Captain Dumont all hands abandon ship, i repeat all heads abandon ship this is not a drill."

Admiral John watched as lifeboats launched from the crippled Lola I, "Target that Impavido and knock him form my space." he snarled at his exec.
The Tropical Weather drives flared to life and pushed the old battleship towards the damaged destroyer. Foward firing naval weapons firing toward the preoccupied ship hitting her hard, shredding armor destroying weapons ripping bulkheads open to space. Going for a broadside the Monsoon class ship manuvered to the impavido's starboard only to see the bridge destroyed adn the ship listless and lifeless in space.

Commodore Gordieva watched the battle unfold rather quickly, the Baron and Naga destroyers made short work of the dropship fleet, darting in and out ripping them to pieces but one, an Overlord, it was too far ahead of the Avengers fleet to be caught. "helm full speed ahead, we have to stop that dropship."

this is how.  the 1st Brigade was on outreach when Waco went WACO, and the subsequent WOB annihilation of all mercenary forces on outreach, the 2nd tagged along to Mars and died in space never evening launching from their jumpships.

The Third RBGD fought against the WOB menace, we were able to send a mixed battalion to aid New Avalon, while two battalions went to New Syrtis.   The rest of the 3rd was sent to stem the Taurian tide losing 2 battalions of men and equipment all total to the Taurians.   The 4th was held in reserve and released to battle the Capellans as they sought to strike against the weakened Suns.  The 4th lost a total of 5 battalions of Mechs, Armor and infantry.     The 3rd and 4th combined at the end of the Jihad could field a 1 3 battalion Mech Reg, 1 4 battalion Infantry Reg, 1 3 battalion Armor Reg and two Aero wings.     from 7 mech battalion, 6 Infantry battalions, 6 Armor Battalions and 2 aerowings.

April 9th 3080

Major James Daniels felt the weight of his mothers death,  Her coffin steel black, draped with the Star League and Avengers flag slowly lowered into the soil of Victoria.    James felt the tears burn down his cheeks as he silently bad farwell to her and the sole glue to holding the Avengers together.   

James held his mothers rank pins in his hand wondering if he should wear them.   "No i wont just yet, first i have to save the Avengers" he mused.   Looking at the current TO&E of what was left of the 3rd and 4th, and the training regiments an idea formed and soon James began to plot out the rebirth of the 1st and 2nd.     Taking the remaining battalions of the combined 3rd and 4th of mech, infantry and armor the 1st could be rebuilt with letting the soldiers to shellshocked to remain on victoria to train the next generations.

1-1 was rebuilt bringing the Iron Will close to full strength.   going to Outreach and making it a temporary home the Iron Will began to train with Dragoon trainers and built a solid relationship with them.   Supporting the Dragoons in the AMF and actions against WOB in the Chaos March.    When Waco launched his attack the 1-1 was among the first casualties.  and when the WOB came only 5 mechs was able to leave.  (one was on a salvage truck, two were limping)  of the five warriors none lived to see the end of the Jihad.    Reconstituted on April 3080

   The 1st Regimental Brigade fared well in the former FWL regions,  chasing pirates and fighting various former FWL rogue units.   Bringing almost 2 battalions of former FWL soldiers who joined after capture.     With their joining the 2nd RGB was reformed with 2 mech battalions.
