The sadly often maligned ( by some ) Dave Summers has done all of the sculpts.  Other than the Grand Crusader by Rommel Tweed, Dave has done all of the Mech, vehicle, Proto, BA and infantry sculpts for several years.  He is an excellent sculptor.  Given good feedback, clarifications and differing perspective images from the artists/art director, Dave really nails them!

Dave does do some excellent work.  He's been sculpting for a very long time, and quite a few of the minis he's done are among my favorites.  But like everyone, he's got his good and bad pieces.  It seems he's a man of extremes.  When he does good, he does stellar, but when he does bad, we get Reseen Krakens!  ;)

I don't know what you're talking about. There was no reseen Kraken. I'm sure of it. I'm also equally sure that if I blocked a horrible mini from memory, I wouldn't remember anyway. ;)

That thing was a screeching dud if there ever was. But like you said, fortunately, the duds from Dave are few and far between- having just finished an Argus up, I'm certainly appreciating one of his better sculpts right now!

I like Summers work with just a few exceptions.

Very cool, I like it.  I think the art's nonstandard arm placement is a neat design concept. Just like the Night Wolf, this one is sharp enough that I may have to get one to paint up in appropriate colors even though I don't collect any Clan units.

I didn't realize Dave Summers has  been doing the majority of the sculpts.  He does fantastic work.  I also didn't realize Psycho did some sculpting. I absolutely love the redone Sunder. IAMCLANWOLF, the 8K Warhammer is awesome. Its a huge improvement over the other reseen Warhammers.  I just painted one in Sword of Light colors, and I would happily build another.  [rockon]

As far as reseen Clan 'mechs like the Kraken, Behemoth, IIC 'mechs go....well, I think the art for them is fugly and generally abandon the Battletech art aesthetics.  The minis look like the art.   #P

My only gripes with newer miniatures are the ones that are gigantic.  Stuff like the Warlord, which is easily 200% the proper scale - or the massive, detailless reseen Grand Crusader. I don't understand how stuff like that gets to production.

It'd be great now if we could get a comparison pic for an idea of what the scale on this baby is like.

Generally when cameras get their batteries changed the date and time function is messed up.
I don't post to play nice with everyone. I post to posit my ideas. If this offends you, there's an ignore function.

Or it's awesomeness warped the space-time continuum!
I like it because it is different and the mini seems pretty close to dead-on for the art!

Its ugly art in that one-of-a-kind way, and the mini sticks true to it.  This is a mini that, if the scale's right, will stand out on a board.

Oh thats exactly what it is. Older cameras reset their clock to it's default time when the batteries die. I just thought it was quite funny.

From Sawbones: 6 pcs....2 shoulder pads,2 waist guns, body and legs.45mm to top of cockpit,20mm wide across chest

Now let's see if i can get Imagecrap to work right this time around...

Hmmm...  :-\

If I'll saw and bent right leg in a knee-to-chest position, rotate these barrels by muzzles to earth and add over back and shoulders a new striped wings as on Aquila lander...

... it's will be worth of try...

This mech actually made me strip some of my older clanners, and repaint them as CSR. Well, not at gun point, but it made me want to... and then I did.

It does look a little goofy, but I like it when a mech looks like a robot rather than a person, so I heartily approve.

sweet, they have one of the best schemes ever  [rockon]
"Warriors, not war machines, are the backbone of the Hell's Horses. While others worship the BattleMech as the ultimate weapon, the men and women of this Clan see even this awesome piece of technology as the tool it is. We have held to this philosophy since the days of our first Khan, who knew that the value of the common soldier far outstripped the brute force of the BattleMech. It is one reason our Clan possesses fewer mechs than most, and has led many to underestimate our fierceness and courage. Our survival against all challengers when others have fallen proves the folly of such arrogance, and testifies to the wisdom of our founders."

I prefer the Corvus Keshik scheme... which is what I use with a little just a little more flair.

The Zeta Galaxy looks too close to CNC Alpha Galaxy, with the bodies both being primarily black.
