Farthest right looks like Wolverine, then to the left a Griffin.  GRF's got the round missile rack on the same side, plus a gun mounted on top of the hand.  WVR has the gun mounted to the outside of the hand, which doesn't seem to be the case for the left of those two.  Plus, WVR vs GRF is a pretty solid match; you've got long range vs close range with very similar performance.  Griffin on the box cover, right?

On the left, it looks like two Thuds - those are drum launchers to my eyes, and a really big left shoulder shield fits the Thunderbolt.  I don't see a large cockpit in comparison to the missile launcher, so I'll say that Locust is in deep hoohah if it's running away for good reason.

Is it the Locust or Wolverine that isn't wearing underwear?

Those... are new maps...
Unless they are classic maps redesigned with a newer aesthetic. I'll take either.

Also, I want that Thud. I want that Griffin. I want that Beemer. I'll... accept that Locust and Wolverweenie.

Is it just me, or are the weapon placements on the Wolverine mini inverted?

I would imagine these are prototypes and 3D printed, right? If so, is it possible the printer program inverted one axis of the 'Mech?

I havent started on the Commando yet, and the Awesome isn't even redesigned yet. but the commando's new design is pretty cool :)

As for the Catapult and Shadowhawk (this is a different model than the one ironwind made) this will be revealed sooner than you might think :P stay tuned

Remember, a mini with an alternative setup is a good excuse for a new variant.

Remember, a mini with an alternative setup is a good excuse for a new variant.
Logistically and stylistically nonsensical variant.
While a handedness conversion makes some sense for customized 'Mechs, as mass-produced version it makes little sense due to logistics involved. (MechWarrior handedness mattering seems a bit far-fetched really, considering neurohelmet is mostly for balance and computer does all heavy lifting when it comes to aiming.)
So, i really hope that is just a prototype thing and not a thing for the final version.

No surprise.
I do wonder how a miniature can be misprinted so that it is mirrored? Though i guess the answer will remove all mystery...

Hi everyone - we've just updated the sneak peek post on the main FB page to round up the available details about the new box sets. Here's the post in its entirety for those not on FB, and for your quoting pleasure:

Quote
*Update!* You've seen the sneak peek photos from Gen Con below, now here are the details we can share so far about the two new box sets for BattleTech that are on their way in 2018.

The Beginner Box Set will include two miniatures, the Griffin and the Wolverine. The Game of Armored Combat box set will include eight miniatures: a Locust, Commando, Wolverine, Shadow Hawk, Catapult, Thunderbolt, Awesome, and BattleMaster. All minis will have entirely new sculpts!

(We're aware the Wolverine was misprinted. These are prototypes, and this is why--it will be fixed for full release. Those responsible have been invited to enjoy a stay at their local Word of Blake facility.)

The boxes are mock-ups only, and the details shown on them are *not* final. The contents list on the back of the box remains in development; as a result, the price point of each box has not been finalized.

The maps shown in the photos are likewise not final, and will receive further development. The rules presented are based on those in the recently-released BattleMech Manual in both form and function.

At the moment, the best release date we can offer is 2018--that's broad, but there's a lot of work going into these products, and we hope to share more of it soon!

Lighten up guys, it's just a misprint.

I am left handed, existing in a world of righties causes problems at times- especially when that hot brass comes flying across your face, maybe to go down the collar to lodge under the body armor.  So to safely dispose of the left handed Wolverine, you can send it to me after GenCon.  I would not want some rightie to be burdened by trying to figure out how to use a mech that has the main weapon on the left arm rather than the right.

Adrian, please tell me we're getting new maps? If you do I'll buy you a keg (well...maybe a beer if you're ever in the KC area...)!

The money in my safe is crying, because it knows what's going to happen to it.
Good news is the lab boys say the symptoms of asbestos poisoning show an immediate latency of 44.6 years. So if you're thirty or over you're laughing. Worst case scenario you miss out on a few rounds of canasta, plus you've forwarded the cause of science by three centuries. I punch those numbers into my calculator, it makes a happy face.
