Reposed Kingfisher
« on: 23 November 2014, 10:36:35 »
I got sick of the Kingfisher pose, so I spent an hour cutting off the right leg with a Dremel circular saw blade.  Reassembling it proved to be a minor challenge.  If you were to make this mech in real-life exactly from the drawing, it could only bend the leg enough to shuffle along.
It is painted in the colors of Snow Raven's gamma galaxy.

Very nice!  The repose really brings it to life.

That's an amazing job, Jim! It's brought the lumpenmech to life. Your config mods are also sharp, and the paintjob completes a massive upgrade!

Very nicely done, indeed.

Cool!  I just got four Kingfishers from IWM to use for my 3rd Bear Guard.  With them all in one Trinary, I'm going to have to do a little reposing on them so this post is very timely!

Agreed, very nice work! It really brings the model to life, instead of just sitting there like the original sculpt.

It looks awesome. Many thanks Jim for opening to the other modelers this door. Some sawing and you get a great miniature.  O0 O0

Mod and paint scheme looks fantastic.

How long did the cuts take with a Dremel?  Are there any heating issues when cutting?

It took about an hour.  The mini got warm, but there were no ill-effects.
