*spoilers regarding the above*

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBlFjtiNQx8
All due respect, the video was 99.99% 100% carefully constructed bull.

TLDR - video claims to have received emails from an insider providing clues in the form of questions, and video proceeds to say and I quote "...this is what I am able to speculate from those questions." Cue 100% fan theory to follow, capped by more sneaked-in qualifications. No basis whatsoever, no quotation or snippet of said "email", zip.

Damningly IMHO, video claimed that his source previously predicted Hayden Christensen's participation in Ep 8 as shown in previous video, but that other video was actually founded on media reports.

Dramatic, yes, carefully qualified, yes, faker than good ol' Supershadow, also yes.

P.S. it might be the work of an opportunist or a genuine fan nut, but the way things are these days.... I wouldn't put it past being intentional disinformation or guerilla marketing to dial the hype up.

Lol.. Wonder if a rebel had used say a shotgun, on the Tantave, if he could have gotten through vader's armor and his lightsaber defenses.

Vader wears (light) powered armor, and Star Wars armor (just like CBT armor) is supposed to be best against projectile weapons.

But personally I really dislike how the force went from "mystical and scary" in the old trilogy. Even thought Vader killed some people, even over interplanetary distances, but that really seemed to be exceptional circumstances given that he never tried attack the rebels with it. He blocked Han's shot, but he knew they would never try to challenge him seriously - he had a bunch of stormtroopers outside the doors, after all.

Afterwards force users starts turning into DnD-style blaster wizards... It just looks silly to me. :(

And at least the saber duels in the OT looked like actual sword fights and not just wild flailing...(don't even get me started on Yoda's Flubber style...)

Lucasfilm announced today that the trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi will debut on “Monday Night Football” on October 9, during halftime of the game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears.

It'll surely be posted to  the official site (www.starwars.com) the second it's done airing.
I have spoken.

may not be as spoilerific as it looks though. remember that when they did the trailer to The Force Awakens they cut some unrelated scenes together to help hide the plot.. and some of the scenes that people thought would be super important to the plot proved to be fairly minor events.

given they have been treating this new film much the same way in terms of information control in all the other areas (like merchandise, comics, etc) i would not be surprised if they aren't doing the same deception routine for the trailer.

Well... they might twist the trailer hints to spring a surprise upon us, but given JJ's own warnings, I rather doubt it. Of late, the Hollywood machine has shown itself more capable of drumming up hype than it is of delivering the goods, so I rather doubt its ability to pull a head-fake like that...

...that being said, I declared shortly before Rogue One that Hollywood didn't seem capable of killing characters any more, and I was pleasantly proven wrong, so here's hoping ;)

Well,  seeing Cpt Phasma actually get some action is good.
Paid good money for it, got to put Brienne's swordfighting skills to use now mustn't they? ;D Captain Phasma was already earmarked to make a return, unbeknownst to those fanboys claiming she was 'wasted' in Ep 7.

Looks pretty neat. Going to get on the bandwagon for that. Might be a little more excited for Star Wars 8 over Star Wars 7.

Let's hope that it's not a re-imagined version of Star Wars V like Star Wars VII was of Star Wars IV

Amen

However, I think the last movie maybe something along those lines. JJ Abrams is doing the last one, but not this one.  I am bit nervous of reports of Mark Hamill being angry about how his character been handled...

Looks like the Star Destroyers we've been teased earlier, ditto for the Mon Cal, some kind of updated Hammerhead, and a bunch of stuff too small for me to care about.

I guess a better shot of the "knuckle" Walkers.

Though what the heck was that little furry critter in the Falcon's cockpit, screaming just after Chewie did??  Just yet another marketing ploy for young kids?
