These designs were designed by truetanker a while ago and have recently made an appearance in my AU.  The fluff is entirely from my AU.

Overview
   The Scorpion's origin lies in 3063 when Clan Goliath Scorpion required
a WarShip capable of coordinating several JumpShips and supporting Seeker
operations in the deep periphery.  Launched in 3063 from the Lum Shipyards the
first vessel Scorpion was a complete failure and was unable to use more than
half of its weapons due to power failures and faults.
   The Goliath Scorpion Clan did not stop there however and six years
later in 3069 the first Scorpion II was launched and was much improved over
the previous version of the Cruiser.

Capabilities
   Small for a cruiser at half a million tons the Scorpion-class Cruisers
are designed to coordinate groups of JumpShips.  Capable of 4G maximum
acceleration the Scorpions carrying more than nine hundred tons of armour,
thirty aerospace fighters, two small craft and two DropShips of their own
the Scorpion's are designed to hold an area of space.  The WarShip carries an
HPG and almost a years worth of food to support this task.
   The original Scorpion was armed with a Heavy Particle Cannon, an array
of AR10 Capital Missile Launchers, Naval autocannons and lasers backed by an
array of standard lasers, pulse lasers, long range missiles and short range
missiles.
   The second version of the Cruiser carries almost the same weapons
array but replaces the long and short range missiles with Advanced Tactical
Missiles with enhances the vessel's combat capabilities.

Battle History
   There are only two known battles of the Scorpion-class.  The first
was when the Goliath Scorpion Seekers arrived at Granada.  During the initial
jump into the system the Scorpion herself led the Scorpions in testing the
resolve of the Umayyid Caliphate.  The WarShip still unable to use its full
weapons array the Scorpion's skeleton crew survive long enough to send an HPG
message to the remaining Seekers before falling prey to a nuclear weapon
employed by the defenders.  The second assault by the Goliath Scorpions sees
all four Scorpion II-class vessels jump into the system and annihilate all of
the JumpShips, DropShips and military installations before releasing Seeker
ground troops to assault the ground forces claiming part of Granada for the
Scorpions.
   The second battle also took place on Granada this time in support of
a combined Blood Spirit and Goliath Scorpion battle force that eliminated
elements of the Word of Blake, Clan Sea Fox and Clan Stone Spirit on the
planet's surface.

Deployment
   All four remaining Scorpions have reportedly retired to the Blood
Spirit held system of Haven, one of the hidden systems employed by the Blood
Spirit Clan [ADDITION - They actually think we have more than one system let
the Society believe that - AL].  All four vessels are known to be lacking
several of their standard weapons which have been used on Goliath Scorpion
ground forces.

Interesting.  It's nice little cruiser.  With it being equipped with HPG and has the ability to effectively act as a flag ship for lesser DropShips and fighters, it be great invasion ship.

I would think (given lack of HPGs in the deep periphery) that the ships would be utilized (when not used a guard ships or invasion platforms) as mobile components of a mobile HPG network until (if ever) a permanent HPG network can be made.

Yeah, I first built her back when AT came out! Then when AT2 showed up, I saw the use of ATM's on more Aero designs and thought, why not upgrade?

Main weapon was the HNPPC, followed by AR10's fore. Aft was protected by the NLs and the single AR10. Broadsides used NACs with every arc having AAA weapons for defense. I made her fast so she could get in your face quick for a drive-by. With enough Aero to provide supreme authority and a pair of droppers for either combat or more support.

I had envisioned multiple Odyssey jumpers per convoy when creation was completed.
