This does remind me of an old episode of MASH, where Hawkeye won a Jeep from an unscrupulous sergeant in a poker game -- the sarge weasled out of it by instead giving Hawk a howitzer. Potter was not amused, precisely because the cannon would draw enemy fire.

Really?  Because my medics carried a 9mm which was to be used to defend patients, not take part in combat.

The fluff specifically mentions the small lasers as a self defense deterrent against pirates and looters, even mentioning some units removing them out of ethical concern.  Hence why I slapped the Comstar logo on it.  You'd have to be pretty insane to attack a med truck to begin with, and piss off Comstar on top?
