Well at least I'm not the only one who looked at a 300 rated engine for this challenge. I'm just glad I still had issue 12 of Battletechnology floating around. That's the issue that had the article on engine comparisons.
But onto my entries...
The first three are the intended units for the challenge. The remaining two were additional concepts I wanted to add to work with the core units.
All the designs share a 300 XFE, DHS, and Endo-Composite structures. All but the Bombast use Light Ferro Armor. The Bombast uses Standard Armor.
The Cheetah, the Light Mech entry, was something a little different for me. Rarely do I focus on quads for designs. But considering the movement rates, I felt a quad could make rather good use of them. I only added the 120m jump movement to assist the Cheetah in operating in difficult terrain.
The main punch for the Cheetah comes from the trio of Med Lasers mounted on a Mech turret on the Rt Torso. And yes, the OP ok'ed the use of mech turrets in the same PM I asked about Blazers in. The intent is to allow the turret to be modular so it can be configured to allow a couple of different setups. Mainly a Beagle/TAG with a Sm Laser or a Missie launcher (either a SRM-4 or a LRM-5) with a ton of non-CASEd ammo in the Rt Torso. Close up, the Cheetah is supported by a couple of Sm Lasers, Lt Torso mounted.
The Cheetha is also covered by 5.5 tons of Light Ferro armor.
Visually, I think of the Cheetah as having a profile much like the Sarath. A rather 'feline' look to it.

The Genpac, or General Purpose Combatant, is the Medium Mech/Trooper entry.
While maybe a little faster than it needs to be, moving at 6/9/6, the Genpac is capable of keeping at medium to long range easily enough.
The main weapons are the Torso mounted PPC and LRM-10, supported by the quartet of Med Lasers. Though if there is a need to add a second ton of LRM ammo, two of the Med Lasers could be converted to Sm Lasers.
The Genpac is also covered by ten tons of Light Ferro armor, max coverage for it's size.
While a full alpha would overload the ten engine-mount DHS, a good pilot should be able to manage the heat load.

The Tackoma, the Heavy Mech entry, is very Marauder-like in design and concept. The Tackoma is intended to fight within a six to ten hex bracket. Basically the anvil to the hammers of the Cheetah and Genpac.
The core of the Tackoma's weapons package is two Lg Lasers and a AC/10 with three tons of CASEd ammo. I went with three tons of AC ammo mainly because I forgot to ask one question: Is alternative ammo available? If it is, the plan then would of been a ton each of Standard, Precision, and Armor-Piercing. The main weapons are then supported by a pair of Med Lasers and a SRM-4 rack. All-in-all a reasonable mix protected by 13.5 tons of Light Ferro armor.
At least with 14 DHS, you can alpha and only worry about movement overheat.

The Vincent would use a beefed up frame of the Genpac. The Vincent is a close combat Mech, much like the Axeman or Hatchetman.
Much like the Hatchetman, the ranged weaponry of the Vincent is a AC/10 supported by five of Med Lasers and a Sm Laser. And there is, of course, the 12 damage Hatchet held in the Rt Hand. All of that covered in 11 tons of Light Ferro. I guess you could pull the Sm Laser for another half-ton, but I think the coverage is decent enough.
Now if alternative ammo is usable, I'd go one ton Standard and one ton Armor-Piercing.

The Bombast is of course your typical slow Assault beast. And I will admit I was trying to keep the use of Light Ferro here as well, but I needed the room. There was also no real weight savings here either. Just 1 ton for 1 point of armor improvement over using 19 tons Standard Armor.
It's rather scary facing down a single AC/20 from a single source, but two? That'll put anyone in a world of hurt. While five tons of CASEd AC/20 ammo is barely enough to support both guns, I was imagining using at least two tons as Armor-Piercing. Otherwise the two Lg Lasers and the LRM-10 should keep people honest enough until the Bombast gets close enough.
