Easy if you go online, and often very discounted. I'd say harder at a brick-and-mortar store, unless they over-ordered some time ago.

As recently as a year ago, Catalyst still had a few at their booth at Gen Con.

Too bad that it just didn't take off. Seen them at the clearance rack of my FLGS.

It did take off. Sell-through and reception were both excellent. The game was just plagued with bad luck that ended the line early.

Which is a shame really, i thought it looked good and had enough potential that i bought an expansion box on the spot when i went up to portland for a bt game. It was literally one of thise "Can't live without" purchases. They didnt have the core box and i was totally all "im sure they will the corebox here again!"

<Morgan freeman> but the box, never came.

I'm pretty sure there were some form of rules available on the website before the crash. Now I can't get it to load, probably resources being put into more used Catalyst websites. Found it in the wayback machine: https://web.archive.org/web/20161126230302/http://monstersinthesky.com/download/

The problem came with the manufacturer (a couple of them really) in China and the fact that the molds were expensive to produce. Rather than go over all the details myself, you can read this post from Randall on the matter. He wrote this back in June of 2014. https://web.archive.org/web/20161126225428/http://monstersinthesky.com/2014/06/05/leviathans-update-2/

That page should have all the rules on it, intro, standard, and a few advanced. Also, ship cards. :)

And it's worth noting that Leviathans was published under a Creative Commons licence. Feel free to share the rules and other e-supplements you have - with suitable attribution (eg. don't hack off the CGL trademarks), and of course never charging for them.

(Note: does not cover minis. However, I think we're reasonably free from the sort of IP theft affecting some companies we share IP with. OTOH, if someone did want to make Leviathan minis ... talk to me O0)

Yeah, there was some behind-the-scenes stuff as well, but nothing on the level of Mr. Chaffee passing on and the factories being jerks. Leviathans deserved better. It's still one hell of a game.

Doug's passing quite literally had nothing to do with Levs issues. Now had we moved forward, it would have been necessary to source a comparable artist, which would have been decidedly non-trivial.
