(Answered) Space Station Maximum Armor
« on: 02 July 2012, 10:48:56 »
How many tons (maximum) of armor can a 99,000 ton space station support? How would the figure be arrived at?

We've seen a 30kton Capital support 27 capital points per facing. We've also seen a 1.5Mton Pavise support over 300 capital points of armor per facing as well. Thanks in advance.

Hello,

The Space Station armor formula was modified via errata. This full errata can be found at: http://bg.battletech.com/errata_files/CAT35004_Strategic_Operations_Errata_2.0.pdf

The relevant errata is:
Quote
Step 4 – Add Armor (p. 152)
In the Advanced Aerospace Unit Armor Table, change the entry for Space Stations from “Structural
Integrity Mass ÷ 3” to “Structural Integrity Mass ÷ 3 + 60”.

This would give a 99,000 ton space station a maximum armor tonnage of: 330 tons
This is based on a SI Mass of 990 for a formula of: (990 ÷ 3) + 60

As a space station, it gets no free armor tonnage.
