Hello,
I did a quick search and didn't notice anything, so forgive me if this has been pointed out already. In the V2.1 Errata, page 14 under minimal damage, it states...
"Every time a unit executes a successful attack at a range bracket with 0* damage, its controlling player must make a 1d6 roll. If the result is 4 or higher, the attack delivers a single point of standard damage. Otherwise the attack still hits, but delivers no damage."
And then on Page 24 of the V2.1 Errata under variable damage it states...
"...its controlling player must roll 1d6 for each damage point the unit would deliver at that range under standard alpha strike rules. For each die result of 3 or more, the attack delivers 1 point of damage (up to its maximum damage potential)...
...0* Damage: When using variable damage rule, units that deal 0* damage forego their usual damage roll, instead its controlling player must make a 1d6 roll. If the result is 5 or higher, the attack delivers a single point of standard damage. Otherwise, the attack stil lhits, but delivers no damage."
finally, in Alpha Strike Companion, page 21 under Variable Damage, it reads...
"...To better simulate this effect, any time a unit executes a successful weapon attack, its controlling player must roll 1d6 for each damage point the unit would deliver at that range under standard alpha strike rules. For each die result of 4 or more, the attack delivers 1 point of damage (up to its maximum damage potential)."
My question then is, under variable damage, must a player roll 3 or higher, or is it 4 or higher to apply standard damage? Is it specifically when using 0* damage weapons that the variable damage threshold is lowered to 3? Minimal damage is also mentioned in the companion with identical numbers to the Errata, but is not mentioned under the variable damage section of the Companion.
Thank you for your time!
