To much stuff for me that could go boom along with an XL engine on a 4/6/4 Chassis.  The W2's benefits really come from the IJJs.  While this certainly has better firepower than the W2, the fact that you have those 2 SnPPCs on there without them really doesn't mix well with the Gauss.

What exactly could go boom enough to compromise the engine? The only potentially explosive elements are the gauss rifle (mounted in the arm behind CASE II) and the capacitor modded ppc (also in an arm).
Good news is the lab boys say the symptoms of asbestos poisoning show an immediate latency of 44.6 years. So if you're thirty or over you're laughing. Worst case scenario you miss out on a few rounds of canasta, plus you've forwarded the cause of science by three centuries. I punch those numbers into my calculator, it makes a happy face.

So many Dark Age designs do not take advantage of the ERA's strengths . The inclination to install one primary or 2 secondary Clan spec weapon systems for instance . What to do with this design is not so clear cut . Replacing either Snub Nosed PPC for a Clan ER works or instead replacing the Gauss Rifle for a Clan spec and reducing the XL engine to a light fusion engine also works . Massive play testing ought to give an answer but as the Gauss Rifle and XL engine replacement option would reduce the cost by about 2 million C Bills and engine vulnerability , I personally would lean that way . I would also replace the small pulse lasers with X-PULSE. Doing the Clan ER works well with the Gauss Rifle so it is a tough call .

I should have probably cleaned up that statement a little.  The underlying issue for me is you have both an XL engine and exploding bits in the arms.  CASE II will protect the Gauss from ripping off the arm however it won't mitigate the damage the pilot.  With the capacitor, it could get crit and explode and take off the other arm before it gets into range.  If both go you have an overweight paperweight with 2 Small Pulse lasers.  While it would possibly qualify as heavy cav during the succession wars it is nearly fast enough to advance and survive to get good use out of the SnPPCs.
