(Answered) Weapon Ranges
« on: 20 July 2017, 06:49:12 »
Hello,

As a new player, I'm having some uncertainty regarding BattleTech weapon range increments(Minimum, Short, Medium, Long). I know how to determine an enemy unit's range relative to an attacker, but not fully how to determine what range increment a target would fall under.

Using the AC/10 as an example:

Short      Med.      Long

  5            10           15

With this data in mind, are these numbers telling me:

a) Short range is less than five hexes?
b) Short range is up to five hexes?

In addition, does this apply to all weapon range increments, or does it ever differ?

Thank you in advance!

Short range for that weapon is from 1-5 hexes, is what that means.  All weapons behave the same way: that is, the number given is always included in that range bracket, just like above.

Welcome to the game.  If you need any further help of this sort, this isn't really the right place, but I'd be happy to answer and then redirect you later.  Cheers.
