Withdrawal symptoms already setting in...

Go build some Badger variants that don't suck and discuss them in the thread, then ;)

(There's already too many that DO suck)

Sorry guys, it's been a busy early week and I haven't had a chance to get this knocked out- it IS my project for today to get this out the door, which will be followed Sunday by a smaller article (you know, something that doesn't have a dozen-odd variants!). Apologies on the delays- RomeCon, a family problem, and a bit of a migraine have done me no good in terms of writing time.

I have noticed that no-one has taken up my request for the Yellow Jacket.

About that... Guess what I was posting this evening when I got home from work... Right up until you started a thread about it?

So, that article is out the window... Plan B sometime tonight or tomorrow. :-\

It's worth remembering, folks, that JHB and others do these fan articles out of the goodness of their hearts.

They're not employees, they do this for their own purposes. We're all welcome to register requests. These are not orders or instructions.

We appreciate the work of JadeHellBringer, and all the other -otW authors of all types, for the pleasure, detail and experience they bring to us all.

If you've registered a request, and you're wondering when/if it will be covered, please feel free to post a polite question wondering if your request is somewhere on an authors' current plans.

To further Worktroll's comments (d'awwwwww, you're making me blush here, boss!), unlike other authors I really don't keep a schedule more than two weeks in advance or so usually. I openly admit that a long, pain in the ass article like the Bandit is something on a week-by-week basis- if I have most of an afternoon to put it together, great, but I'll hoard smaller article ideas like the Shun (mmmmm, ,Shun) so I can get something brief-ish out the door when things are busy.

That said, I do work my way through requests as quickly as I can- if you haven't seen me cover yours, send me a note and ask me if you're on the list, and I'll at least let you know if you're on there or not. Promise.

The irony on the Yellow Jacket, again, is that the article was all but done, and just needed a few edits, to be copied and pasted onto a thread, and get the image added, and it would have been up five minutes after getting in the door. I did all the work on it- and just a couple of hours prior to posting, I got sniped. Doh! So that article is on ice and will probably not get posted for a long time to come- no point having two threads about it, after all. These articles tend to die out a few days after posting anyway, to my dismay- the last thing I want to do is post one that already had its discussion run its course before I ever post it!

I don't consider a "Talk to me about X" to be a proper substitute for an *otW covering X.  Plus, I rather like your style, Hellbie.  I vote you still put up the finished article. O0

It's worth noting - just for completeness - I'm only allowed to think I'm JHB's boss when it comes to moderation duties. As far as -OTWs are concerned, I'm just another forumite.

To totally complete that thought, he's not much of a boss when it comes to moderation duties either.  }:)

It'll get put up eventually, but like I said having two threads going about it just means this one would die off that much sooner. I've got it saved, and it'll go up someday when I need an article and don't have time to do one. (Ideally I'd post it while on vacation at the holidays rather than take a week off).

It'll get done sometime. Just not right now.

Due to problems outside of the article itself, I'm going to be putting VotW on hold for a bit. This WILL return (and in fact if people want to take over during my hiatus please let me know and I'm happy to hand it over), but at least for a while there won't be anything out of me. I apologize for this, but sometimes things just don't go the way you want them to.

See you all soon.

I was reading through some older VotWs(am I the only person that pronounces that as "vitwah"?), and at one point Moonsword mentioned a desire to compare all the Age of War MBTs together. Did this ever happen?

What would be all the Age of War MBTs?

Merkava Mk?, Marsden I?, Estevez, Augustus, T-12 Tiger, Korvin?  Unless it is their hover, we are missing anything serious from the Dracs?

I had actually gathered all of those I could think of with an eye towards doing an Alpha Strike of the Week article on them, but feel free to do it yourself, as I'm proving quite lazy. :)

The vees I gathered for it are:

Merkava Mk VI, VII, and VIII
Marsden I, II (primitive), II, and II-A
Estevez Standard and AA
Tiger Medium Tank
Korvin KRV-2 and KRV-3
Augustus A3
Sabaku Kaze and Sand Devil
Gallant Urban Assault Tank
LTV-4 Hover Tank

An ongoing source of sadness and woe. Mostly woe.

Up front, I know the feeling. But I don't miss spending scarce free time on this only to get blasted for the work for the next few days. I loved doing the articles, on occasion I start typing a new one up, and I remember quickly why I don't do anything that stupid again.

Sadness, woe, and rage at those responsible for your burnout.

Maybe someyear I'll go for a money/mouth interface, and write some up myself. Probably about as common as my WSotW articles.

Well, one of the useful points is that there's far fewer vehicle designs than Mechs, so a lot of things have already been covered (a problem I ran into often- great requests for stuff that had been covered already). So making it a bi-monthly or even monthly column probably would work better at this point than anything.

Ironically, checking a USB drive at work for a missing file, I found one of the articles I never got around to publishing, for the Po II. Someday, maybe.
