A Call to War: Clan Hell's Horses Iota Galaxy
« on: 06 September 2015, 12:21:31 »
For my Call to War force I picked Clan Hell's Horses Iota Galaxy. This force is set in the Darkage timeline.

I picked Iota for their unclan like fighting tactics and this was also a good way to intergrate some conventional vehicles into a force. That and the fact that their paint scheme is solid black, without trim or highlighting. However, many Iota warriors take to painting their equipment in several outrageous colors. So it gives me some options.

Iota is a defensive force that is meant to hold up an enemy long enough for a frontline galaxy to respond.

Force selection was pulled from what I had on hand. Also trying to fit the flavor of units Ranger Clusters emphasizing speed.

Striker Star (75% of the unit receives the Speed Demon Special Pilot Ability)
Joust Medium Tank   32 Points  Skirmisher
Joust Medium Tank   32 Points  Skirmisher
Wyvern IIC               36 Points  Skirmisher
Great Wyrm              33 Points  Skirmisher
Thresher                   39 Points  Skirmisher
Corvis                       30 Points  Brawler

Sweep Star (75% of the units in this formation receives the Blood Stalker Special Pilot Ability)
Cizin Hover Tank      28 Points  Striker
Cizin Hover Tank      28 Points  Striker
Donar Assault Hel.    16 Points Striker
Shamash Recon.       13 Points  Scout
Asshur Art. Spotter   17 Points  Striker
Asshur Art. Spotter   17 Points  Striker
Piranha 2                  17 Points  Striker
Hellion B                    28 Points  Striker

Giving me a PV total of: 366

Not as far as I had hoped to be on this project but progress is being made.

Got most of the units primed this evening and hope to begin painting this weekend.

Huh, the Cizin is larger than I'd imagined.

Looking forward to seeing how these turn out.  I really love the HH paint schemes.

An interesting selection of minis, and the CHH Iota Galaxy offers the opportunity for some creative paint schemes.  Can't wait to see how these turn out!

Those CZs look sweet, and are indeed larger than I had anticipated. I need a pair.

Nice to see a Donar in the mix, too. Love the character of that miniature.

Oh yeah, I bet you think you're soooo cool, with all your stinkin' horsebutts, and helicopters, and stuff!!

I should be painting my horsies too. Maybe seeing your BEAUTIFULLY painted miniatures will be the kick I need to ignite inspiration and motivation?? Time will tell!!

Out of interest, how many mm long are the metal Cizins? I'll try and remember to measure a plastic one.

Which, funny enough, is right around the same length as other 40-50 ton hovercraft.
