I'd toss the booby trap for another half-ton of armor, a small laser, a medium laser and two more RL10s if possible.  Other than that, looks fun. :)

The cockpit needs to have a Big Red Button.  Have it also hooked up to the ejection system because the Mech will be sitting still for several turns trying to dissipate all the heat.

Firesprocket's will be at 62 heat at the end of the turn after doing a mass salvo (ignoring any heat from movement), and will take 4 turns to even have a chance of moving.

Dave's will still be making rolls at the end of its turn, but will be below 30 heat.

yeah
my idea was to have enough to do a couple big salvoes or a giant bang from ambush, but still have some weapons to survive with afterward

Think of it within the contents of the SMC.  Tack on a full head ejection system and roll  for your safety.   Between, the Fire power and the trap one should easily be making bank destroying 1 to 3 units depending on how crowded the field is..  Light off that sucker off in the middle of a pile of mechs and you might even take another with you when you die.

Thing is you don't need to fire them all at once. Fire two to three, and you're still sending appreciable damage downrange, and with a dozen launchers you can do that for 4-6 turns, which should be enough to make your opponents really unhappy.  Compared to an LRM-10, MRM-10 or SRM-6, you're trading endurance for frontloading your damage.

The thing of it is though it isn't designed for what you are suggesting.  It is just designed to lob an obscene amount of rockets at a target, which if it is 55 tons or less is probably going to damage the target to a respectable degree.  Yes it would sit there for 4-6 turns if it was to going to cool down.  However, why cool down when you can press a button and cook yourself off for additional damage.   Dave's design is more or less similar to what I had designed without the installation of the Booby Trap, except I only had a pair of Medium lasers and went 3/5/3.
