IWM 20-5126 Gun GN-2O
« on: 11 March 2016, 21:40:39 »
Does anyone have a picture of the rear torso of the Gun model? I just picked one up, and it has the look of a miniature that didn't get a complete pour.

Actually... better yet, here's a picture:

The area circled in black is the area that seems to be mismolded.

I did. Heck, I sent the e-mail earlier today, and got a response four minutes later. They have the picture.

Possible mold issue aside, this is a nice model. Despite being the same weight, it's going to be dwarfed by the PP Locust. But it feels *right* next to other 'Mechs. It is half-tempting to give it the HPPC of Alt A...

Is the model for just the Prime Config or are there added parts for the other configs?
Why not Zoidberg?

Just the Prime. It'll need to be modded for any other variant.

You definitely have a mis-cast. That usually happens when the mold is too cold, it freezes up the flow of the metal before it has time to fill up the mold.

Here's mine assembled. Sorry, no backside image though.

This looks nowhere near the usual quality and level of detail of the other newer Mechs. That is a huge let down. :( Sorry to say that but the artwork let me hope for a really awesome mini, and then this :-[

Did you look at the picture Dak provided? Don't be fooled by the pictures of the miscast in the first post.

Also lets not forget that this is one of the smallest mechs i've ever made.

but just for your reference this is the 3d model:

Yeah, neither picture does the actual model justice. It really needs a Camo Specs paint job to make all the details stand out. Once my replacement torso gets here (I suspect in the next few days or so.) I'll likely put brush to primer, but it won't be Camo Specs.

That´s exactly the pic I reffered to. I hope the legs are just in a beta/prototype state.

Well, then you will be disappointed ... that's the production model. You can see the 3d sculpt a few posts above. What's not to like?

Okay my Gun just arrived and it looks better then on the pics but I have to say now I understand the missing details. The figure is pretty small. Nonetheless I am a bit disappointed by it´s legs. With my order came a Quasimodo, a Wei Lu bing and a enormous Tenshi. If I look at the great details of the Wei the Gun could´ve been better. I post pictures after they received their paint jobs.

Don´t get that. The Wei is rather big. Exactly like the other 80 85 ton mechs

If you say so.  I think the picture says otherwise.

Sheesh... you're both showing one with a hexbase and one without.  Of course they're going to look way different.  If you want to show a true comparison, put them on the same hexbase, making sure the bottoms of the feet are the same height, and take a picture straight on from the front.  No downward (or upward) angles.

the lu wei bing is compact and decidedly on the short end of its weight class. When i get home tonight, i'll stick it in a lineup with a bunch of 85 tonners that i've mounted on the same base and you can decide for yourself to what degree it's in or or out of scale.

The sculpt of the Gun looks awful nice, and the Wei ain't bad either. Regardless of scale. [drool]

Right, after careful and detailed analysis, I have concluded that the Gun is very cute.

Now, I am going to have to plan an urban 'defense' Lance that includes a Gun, an Urbanmech and some other Mechs.
