Isn't the game today?
It was, and it went well! Even had a Firesprocket there. ;)
Next game is Saturday
November 5th!
The attack on the factory was repulsed, but the attackers managed to get out with about half their force.
The subsequent lightning raid on a water purification plant went off much more successfully; the defenders were crushed in the opening salvo after a combat drop. A hunchback got the brunt of the defender's initial attention (four AC20s, three hit, six LRM20s, only 1 hit, plus assorted other attention) but wisely shut down despite staying on his feet. In return, both Demolishers and one of the LRM carriers died.
The rout was complete. The second LRM Carrier, too slow to escape, had its crew bug out. Mechs and hovertanks scattered.
A Champion got four hovertanks and a Mech on its 6 when it tried to wreck a fleeing Clint, but no other losses were suffered.
Next up (November 5th!), a second attack on the factory. The hope is that the attack on the water plant causes the defenders to have to cover too many potential targets, making them vulnerable at key strategic locations. The attackers will have to be cobbled together from the remnants of Charlie (Artillery base attack) and Alpha (First factory attack), but at least they know what to expect.
Last seen at the factory: lance of Mechs from the artillery base (coming in just as the remains of Alpha were leaving), a Crossbow, BattleAxe, Shadow hawk and Trebuchet. Also present are a lance of Orions that didnt even get their first coat of paint yet, and a prototype 'Mech that seemed much worse for wear.
