Yeah, that little bastard made it out.
As Phoenix Hawks are prone to do...

As THAT P-Hawk is prone to doing. You'll recall that was the mini used in my prior campaign as the Thing That Should Not Be, with the plasma rifle and stealth armor, that shouldn't have existed in that timeframe. My plan was to errata that little error on my behalf by killing the smarmy son of a bitch, and it escaped EVERY TIME. Now it's STILL doing it. I think I need to bring a bug swatter next time and just smack the stupid out of that miniature.

(I'd never do that, that mini was YEARS in construction due to repeated mishaps and just being a pain to assemble. No way I'm smashing it... at least not until my second one is ready...)

So assuming I can get off of work on the 2nd, what time would the game start?

6pm. But i want to temper expectations a bit: job 1 of that game is teaching. This means you're either there to learn, or there to help play an opfor without a fair chance. Or to spectate.
The solution is just ignore Paul.

Looking like I won't be able to make the 2nd, unfortunately.  :-[

I'm up for anything.  Unfortunately it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to make it now.  My mortgage sent me a bill for an escrow shortage due by Tuesday :(

God, two weeks? That's it? I thought I had longer before having to see all of you again.

*sigh* I'll go get my immunizations caught up then...

Hope to see a bunch of you Saturday!

Also, Cubby and I will do another training session on Friday the 14th. As before, my goal is to teach him something, so the odds are not necessarily in favor of that generating play time for other people, though I can be talked in to it if it doesn't prove disruptive. I usually have a specific 'script' in mind that will expose him to problems I want him to have to deal with.

Topic of the next session will be MD vs Society, or, gaming at the cutting edge of BT tech. Forces will be a bit below a company, but *disgusting* as far as what they'll have. Like, probably 'never existed in-universe' level of improbability. Consider it a stresstest.

Yes, that's the plan. We'll go as late as we need to/are able. The MTG crowd usually buys us a little more time on Friday nights, so that's a bonus.

Saturday for me is TBD on what path the hurricane runs.  Right now it doesn't appear it will be an issue, but it the storm speeds up the coast that changes everything for my travel.

That's probably true for most people.

I'll prepare to show up, provided there's no safety concerns. Depending on turnout, I'll just pack to play a pickup game, as a backup.

Based on current storm tracks, that's probably a wise idea. A lot can change over the next couple of days, but it looks an awful lot right now like a very powerful storm walking its way right past Delaware.

Forecast is looking pretty favorable for this area (and most anywhere Virginia and up).
Still, I'll prepare to do a pickup scenario game, just in case attendance is low. Odds look favorable for a normal game, though.

Isn't the game today?

It was, and it went well! Even had a Firesprocket there. ;)

Next game is Saturday November 5th!

The attack on the factory was repulsed, but the attackers managed to get out with about half their force.
The subsequent lightning raid on a water purification plant went off much more successfully; the defenders were crushed in the opening salvo after a combat drop. A hunchback got the brunt of the defender's initial attention (four AC20s, three hit, six LRM20s, only 1 hit, plus assorted other attention) but wisely shut down despite staying on his feet. In return, both Demolishers and one of the LRM carriers died.
The rout was complete. The second LRM Carrier, too slow to escape, had its crew bug out. Mechs and hovertanks scattered.
A Champion got four hovertanks and a Mech on its 6 when it tried to wreck a fleeing Clint, but no other losses were suffered.

Next up (November 5th!), a second attack on the factory. The hope is that the attack on the water plant causes the defenders to have to cover too many potential targets, making them vulnerable at key strategic locations. The attackers will have to be cobbled together from the remnants of Charlie (Artillery base attack) and Alpha (First factory attack), but at least they know what to expect.
Last seen at the factory: lance of Mechs from the artillery base (coming in just as the remains of Alpha were leaving), a Crossbow, BattleAxe, Shadow hawk and Trebuchet.  Also present are a lance of Orions that didnt even get their first coat of paint yet, and a prototype 'Mech that seemed much worse for wear.

Factory has finally been captured!
This has breathed fresh life in a Lyran assault that seemed to be a bit flagging.
Tune in January 14th to see if things are turning around.

Are we taking December off completely, or just the campaign itself taking a month off?

Hmmmm... you know, it's been a long time since I ran a Backstabber game. If there's interest, that might not be the worst idea.  >:D
