It is not fast paced which is good. The story is progressing at a nice leisurely pace with lots of beautiful scenery and plenty of story building.

Aside from Mazinger, There also announcement of a new scifi anime in the works by  Shoji Kawamori, the creator of Macross, Escaflowne, and Aquarion.

Named Heavy Divine Unit Pandora (or just Pandora), which is a sort of post-apocalyptic world, where experimental generator goes awry, causing everything to evolve into intelligence and not necessary friendly to humans.  A scientist who was involved with the generator that trigger the event livings in a essentially a dead city trying to make mends to the situation.  The human race is on the verge of extinction.   The scientist has ally as he tries fend off the mutate biological and mechanical, he got car. I'm joking he has variable transformable car/mecha.

The trailer looks darn good. I hope it lives up to the hype.  :D

The film is being released very soon in Italy, Japan, and France.
It's planned to screen in a grand total of 12 theaters in France. Oddly centered around Toulon on the Cote d'Azur and the Belgian border up north - so, uh, anywhere but around here i guess.  :-\

World premiere is on the 12th Rome Film Festival btw. On Oct 28th. No announcement yet which Italian theaters it will be shown in afterwards...

If you want post-apocalyptic slice-of-life, you may want to check out the Chikyuu no Houkago / Afterschool of the Earth manga.

Crunchyroll has (or had?) the manga 2.5 motion-comic-with-voice-over version.

Inuyashiki Last Hero - 1 & 2
This is the "Old Man turned into a Combat Cyborg" title.
Besides the decent OP by Man With A Mission, the first two episodes are quite interesting in showcasing the two leads.
Only a word of caution going into episode two, there's a sequence about half way into the episode that isn't for faint of heart. Considering the actual Manga was done by the same creator as Gantz, I'm surprised it didn't really happen in the first episode instead.

Episode three is really going to be interesting.

Well,  looks like the creators of Record of Lodoss War are getting another anmie based on a more recent novel series

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-10-19/record-of-grancrest-war-anime-english-subtitled-trailer-streamed/.122945

I thought when I saw the title it was someone copying it.  But, then I saw who the creators are....

Watching Robotech on Netflix. I had a realization this morning that the peacekeepers of Farscape resemble the Zentradis a lot.
Related to the humans in the past somehow? Check
Uplifted by a greater power? Check
Bred for war? Check

It depends on which Zentraedi interpretation you shoot for.
In their original incarnation, to keep the parallel running, the Peacekeepers would have been responsible for wiping out the Eidelon.

So. Sort of 'close, but not quite'.

Actually, given the propensity of both to occasionally attempt to wipe out their predecessor (forgot about the Peacekeeper War) and/or go native, actually... no.

You have a point.  :)

My question is this:

Because the LN series is over (the core one that is) will this be a 26-episode series that gets TO the ending, or will it be a lousy 13-episode cour that has to end on a rather grimdark note (considering where the LNs are, and that you realistically can't do more than 4 LNs in a 13-episode series)?
