Who got what FWL Warships when the League broke up?
« on: 20 August 2017, 06:31:33 »
The Jihad pretty much put the kibosh on Warships - but plenty actually survived.
But do we get a full list of which ones survived and who got them?

I'm specifically after the FWL navy, which kinda splinters along regional lines.
A heap went over to the Word, obviously. But the Regulans got some and do did Oriente.

What about the Duchy of Tamirad? Or the Andurians?

Covered in Field Report: FWLM. Regulus got two ex-FWLM warships. Orientie got seven, but three of those were destroyed by the Word in 3079, with another suffering a crippled KF drive.

None of the other states got any.

Excellent! Thank you! I was wondering if the field report might have it, but I'm away from books.

i assume that the rest the WoB got?
i always found it a bit annoying that the FWL got so many warships. i get that with the WoB alliance they had a better chance of actually returning warships to service, but it always seemed silly to me that only the FWL was able to find old crippled warships and repair/refit them. the Fedcom and Combine should have been doing that as well, just perhaps not as efficiently.

WHy annoying?

The FWL had the help of the Word of Blake, who sat on the old historical battle report archives from the SLDF which showed just where inside system the battles had been fought and notices about the condition of ships encounted, abandoned and destroyed. The WoB/ComStar also contributed with one of the most important aspects, the drive cores needed to create drives. At the time they had a monopoly on their creation.

During the Jihad one of the carriers became part of Snow Raven Fleet. Its only operational example left of the class known. There the Wob controlled one still at large.

It does make sense FWL cleans up, seeing as they have Blakist help.
Even the Cappies had Word help to get their warship program going from memory.

I thought it was the maneuver drives, not the Jump cores?

The jump cores on warships were half the size of merchant ones and the only place they were manufactured was Terra.

actually no, all the successor states had facilities that could build the jump cores. places like Kathil.

the bottleneck was the transit drives.. and Comstar did not manufacture them for anyone. post-schism Comstar just offered technical help in getting each state's transit drive production facilities up and running properly.

I thought Regulus ended up with three ships, the Delos, Haptopoda, and Attica.
The Attica was then kept by the Duchy of Oriente as a prize for the attack on Oriente.

By the time FM:3145 rolls around, it looks like only three are left. An Agamemnon and an Eagle that are still mobile and a Thera stuck in orbit around Oriente.
