I sat down with my RPG group for session zero. It was their first time creating characters for aToW, and--unfortunately--many people did not have Microsoft Excel to make the character generator work.

I want us to use the life module system, but it is tedious writing down all of the XP for each skill, trait, and attribute individually; so that they can be added up later.

Is there a non-Microsoft Excel character generator that we could use?

to the best of my knowledge no, however the "excel" sheets should work in open office

I tested my Excel spreadsheet in Open Office, and it worked fine.  I don't know about any of the others...

I developed mine in Open Office, tested it in Libre Office, and tested it in Microsoft Excel.  There were some early issues with Microsoft Excel but they were worked out.

Would you care to share this with me? My group is giving character creation a second shot this Sunday.

Both of our spreadsheets are posted here on the board, in this section.

These were a big hit. Everyone got their character created and had much better time than when we tried doing it by pen and paper.

Life module does take a fair amount of organization to do by hand and can be fairly daunting as a result but with it being a zero sum, except for repeating modules, affair you can create your own modules fairly easily to spice things up.
