TM BattleMech Cost Calculation and IO LAM Conversion Costs
« on: 05 December 2017, 22:40:20 »
Evening from WA,

BT TechManual PDF CAT 35002 2007-2013 The Topps Company, Inc. Corrected Third Printing Published by Catalyst Game Lab in the Final Unit Cost Formulas Table on page 285 calculates a BattleMech's final cost as

(Structural Cost + Weapon/Equipment Costs) x (Omni Conversion Cost*) x (1 + [Total Tonnage ÷ 100])

*Omni Conversion Cost (BattleMechs, Combat Vehicles, Support Vehicles and Aerospace Fighters only) = 1.25; If the unit is not built as an Omni, this value is 1.

From BT Interstellar Operation PDF CAT 35006 2016 The Topps Company, Inc. Printed in USA Published by Catalyst Game Labs p. 186

"LAM Conversion Costs: Expressed as a formula (WSC x 0.65 for Bimodal LAMs, and WSC x 0.75 for Standard LAMs), this cost is derived from cost of all the weapons, equipment, and structure the unit also mounts (represented by the term “WSC”), and is then added to the unit’s cost before the ’Mech’s final cost multiplier is applied. Thus, if an ’Mech had run up a cost of 1,850,000 C-bills in structural, weapon, and equipment costs, its additional cost for conversion into a standard LAM would be 1,387,500 (1,850,000 x 0.75 = 1,387,500)."

From the above information I think the Final Cost Formula is:

(Structural Cost + Weapon/Equipment Costs + LAM Conversion Cost) x (1) x (1 + [Total Tonnage ÷ 100])

Have I correctly understood the instructions and figured out the appropriate formula?
